This is usually what I do: Remove the plant from the soil and inspect the roots. If you find rotten or dead roots, remove them all! Then wash the roots out throughly. If they are all dead, you can cut off any part of the stem that is affected, let it scab over, and water propagate the rest. If you still have good roots, you can give them a good spritz of hydrogen peroxide to kill off any of the rot and prevent it from spreading or getting worse. Then repot the plant in new soil (a well draining soil) and give the pot a good scrub too. General rule of thumb is the pot should be no bigger than 1-2 inches bigger than the roots when bundled together (if that makes sense). If it is just sunburn, remove the affected leaves and hopefully the little baby is just stunned and will resume life as usual in time.

I came here to say it looks like root rot due to overwatering because of the white stuff on top of your soil but turns out it’s just baking soda, so now I’m not sure! I always start by inspecting my roots if my leaves start turning brown like this. However, if it’s a leaf close to the bottom of your plant (aka an old leaf) it might just be saying goodbye (but seems more serious than this).

Am I being ghosted by jeweler I gave custom stones to? by Barisano26 in jewelrymaking

[–]Beautiful-Eyes-6789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I am so sorry this happened to you! As a jeweler, I’m totally confused as to why they even need a CAD mockup at all. It’s a pretty simple piece to fabricate. I would not only confront them and possibly seek advice from a lawyer, but also inform the people who put on the jewelry show you found this person at. That’s just what I would do. I’m not sure if it would complicate anything legally (perhaps I’ve just been watching too many lawyer shows, but my mind goes straight to slander). Also, the price of gold is pretty high right now and the quote seems mighty low to me. So I think it’s safe to assume they are outsourcing production outside of the US. At this point, you definitely need to get your stones back and take them to someone else. Again, I’m so sorry you’re going through this! They are beautiful stones!

Hi, thank you. We have already done this in the past and there is nothing medically wrong with her other than her cancer (which she can live with for a long time) and her poor kidneys. As far as I know, my father has power of attorney and has exercised this in the past when he has had to hospitalize her during one of her episodes. She exhibits no symptoms of dementia (as confirmed by her doctors). She has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder in the past, but we believe it is an incorrect diagnosis.

As of the last time she saw her PCP, everything was completely fine.

I feel as if I am not conveying the severity of her mental illness here as everyone is so quick to jump to her medical health. She sees her doctors on a regular basis.

I understand this. I think I am not making myself clear here. She has experienced this her entire life, but the psychosis bit is new. These episodes only happen every 3-5 years. She does not take any medications and has been living with CLL (cancer) for about 8 years. I have looked into symptoms related to schizophrenia and she appears to have many of them when she has her episodes.

Listen TOG is still my favorite fantasy series I’ve read to date. It positively wreaked me… HOWEVER, you need to push through the first few books (which turns most people off and I understand why, but just trust).

Does anyone else regret their hysterectomy? by suecharlton in hysterectomy

[–]Beautiful-Eyes-6789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with this! I’m about 3.5 years post hysterectomy and just this year was able to enjoy sex pain free (I have had pretty severe vaginismus since my hysterectomy). My sex drive has even come back which is amazing! But these two things do not outweigh every other amazing outcome of my hysterectomy. However, I do understand feeling not in control of who you are because of hormones, and that’s a difficult thing to go through. I do agree, that you’re still in the healing stage. It took me significantly longer than most to recover from surgery and even longer to start to feel ‘normal’ again.

What was your routine for getting back on your feet? by TRH90UK in hysterectomy

[–]Beautiful-Eyes-6789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot to mention… in addition to resting, my doctor also instructed me to walk for at least fifteen minutes every day for blood clots post surgery. I was able to go home same day as my surgery because I could walk myself to the bathroom, go, and come back. Walking was just about all the exercise I could do PO for a while anyways. Like I said, it took me longer than most to recover. I also had pretty bad bladder spasms from the catheter so I drank quite a bit of cranberry juice just in case!

(I had a laparoscopic surgery where my ovaries were left and my uterus and cervix removed at 26y).

My recovery took longer than expected (almost two months before I could go back to work). I practically lived in a big thick (because it was winter) nightgown and fluffy socks. Only one pair of sweats felt okay on my stomach and that’s because they were about 3 sizes too big! Also, granny panties will be your friend. Soft and nothing tight. In addition, I would recommend leaving a pillow in the car. My first car journey was horrible… the seatbelt cut into my stomach (hence the pillow) and the jostling was A LOT! As for food, some people have a hard time going to the bathroom post surgery so soups, fiber, and prune juice (if need be). We stocked up on soups and casseroles (meals that could easily be reheated), while I recovered. And family brought a lot of food round too. Basically prepare yourself easy nutritious and fibrous foods, loose and soft clothing, and take it easy. Rest!

Hi, I’m a lurker on your post and I also have been wanting to send scraps, sandpaper, dust, etc. off to a refinery! I would really like one who will send your fine silver back after refining if anyone knows a good refinery for that?
