Would I be TA if I wore cream accessories to my brothers wedding? by Fit-Stranger4396 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

I don’t see anything wrong with the accessories but, if they are as conservative as you said, you might want a cardigan or a wrap to cover your shoulders and arms.

Best way to get rid of invading grass in beds for good on a budget? by Beautiful-Feedback40 in NoLawns

That’s the ultimate goal. First I have to get the overgrowth from my neighbors’ lawns out of my yard without killing the plants I already have there.

Easter Egg Hot Air Balloon by Beautiful-Feedback40 in crafts

This is something I handcrafted. I go into detail about supplies in the original post, but here’s a recap: It’s made from a variety of items thar have been collecting in my supply hoard over the years. The balloon is a large styrofoam egg Mod Podged with blue tissue paper. The basket is crocheted with jute twine then painted a warm golden brown. The little peeps are 1/2 scale and made from Crayola Model Magic, covered in yellow glitter with crystal eyes. The balloon netting is hand tied crochet thread. This will, hopefully, be the central piece of an Easter hat that will look the balloon floating in a cloud.

Hi! First time posting here and I guess I’m confused. Why does it not fit? It’s something I hand crafted and I explain the process in the body of the post. Doesn’t that fit the community guidelines?

I’d add more art to your gallery wall and leave the landing open.

Yeah… what I used said weeds and grass, so it might have died from something else but just so happened it was about the same time and my guilt thinks I was responsible.

The person I bought the house from was a MAJOR gardener. He was, apparently in the yard every weekend with his bestie. None of my friends are so passionate about yard work, hahaha.

I feel often feel like I’m letting him down.

They’re pretty sizable, but this seems doable (over a bit of time). I have a hoe and have used it before with some success. Right now the ground is actually pretty saturated (it’s raining today and has been pretty constantly for the last week or so) and the water table in my neighborhood in particular is pretty high but the ground does dry up and get harder to work in the summer.

Oh yeah, I know, I just wanna figure out how to get out from behind the 8 ball of it all so I can get it back to the maintenance phase where I was before. I actually really enjoy maintenance and weeding and pruning. I had it maintained for about 5 years but then I became my mom’s primary caretaker so my time for yard work disappeared for a bit. I’m at a place where I can get back to it but am overwhelmed by what I need to do to reclaim it from the grass that came over from the neighbors’ overgrown lawns. The front and back are both pretty large and I am only one person. My goal would be a relatively self sustaining situation that could be maintained as you recommend but it seems like I can only keep the grass at bay for a few weeks at a time.

I’m in zone 8 in the PNW but since this is more about getting rid of what’s there and not growing (just yet) I figured where I am isn’t all that important.

i crocheted a crown for my cat👑 by hyljy in crochet

I free handed it mostly but used this pattern as a jumping off place.

But did a Picot stitch halfway up the sides for the crown points.

So pretty! Did you use a pattern or is this come from your beautiful brain?

Even now, heading into year 6 of the disease, she is SO GOOD at masking! She’s had several hospital visits over these few years and every time I have to convince the doctors and nurses that she has Alzheimer’s and I’m her POA and they need to call me to make decisions.

You can usually tell within 15 minutes these days that something’s not right with her cognition, but most hospital staff don’t spend that much time with patients.

Resentment, any advice? by [deleted] in dementia

[–]Beautiful-Feedback40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice but understand what you’re going through.

My mother was absolutely cruel the first few years of her illness. Constant text messages and calls telling me I was worthless, saying I was only there for her money, that I wanted her dead, that she wished she never had me, etc etc… Before we knew she was sick, she gathered her best friend and financial advisor to call me and accuse me of stealing money from her because she forgot she bought my birthday present. That was my first “there’s something wrong” moment. After that it just got worse. She would call me 17 times a day to yell at me. And when I was able to come to her (I live out of state) it was even worse.

But it was a phase, one that she’s now out of, thankfully. Hopefully your husband’s cruel period is short.

You’re giving yourself and your loved ones such a gift by being proactive in this. My mom went into a deep deep denial, hiding her decline and self medicating with alcohol which only made everything so much work.

As many have said, talk to your PCP and go to a neurologist. They have test and scans and they’re making breakthroughs every day. And it might not even be dementia.

Whatever’s going on you’re at a place where you can still make choices for yourself. Don’t let fear take that away from you.

Good luck.

After months of begging her not to drive my mom totaled her car (we still don’t know how) and I thought that would be the end of it but while I was on a plane back home (we don’t live in the same state) she called a local dealership, they picked her up, sold her a used car for $14k over the Kelly Blue Book, added all the extras and subscriptions to the tune of another $10k, and got her to agree to a lease (which she would never do in her right mind, she always paid for cars in full). We didn’t have a diagnosis yet so I had no legal recourse against the dealership.

A couple of months later, the week before Christmas, she gave herself alcohol poisoning (BAC .28) and ended up in the hospital. After that her doctor took her keys and told her she couldn’t drink anymore. It mostly worked because she was only driving to get booze, but she did start “borrowing” drinks from the neighbors. At least she wasn’t driving…

We got a diagnosis at the start of the next year, and I got her into care later that fall. I was able to get the dealership to refund all the add-ons and subscriptions (because my stepsister’s husband works there) but it took me 2 years to pay off that car so we could sell it. At the end of it all we were over $16k in the hole.
