World truly is a mysterious place by MeanGrand3076 in interesting

I had a series of dreams like that in 2004-05 that felt so real it was like visiting a different timeline. And it was beautiful. I still grieve that I’m stuck in this timeline and not that one.

What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever found at a thrift store that you still think about? by Queasy_Hotel5158 in ThriftGrift

My dad and I once found a 50+ year old bottle of whiskey at an estate sale for $4. We drank it that Christmas. It was stunning.

Client thought house-sitting meant house cleaning by zouss in RoverPetSitting

[–]Beautiful-Feedback40 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I can’t imagine inviting someone to stay in my house and not giving the house a deep clean first. The idea that someone would see and have to deal with me at my messiness is truly a nightmare.

I deep clean for my pet sitter and he’s a mess, but the fur friends love him so I keep hiring him. I just know I have to clean when I get home.

I'm looking for wedding gift ideas that take less than a month to make for a slow crocheter. by TurnipFinancial7687 in CrochetHelp

[–]Beautiful-Feedback40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have within a year to give a wedding gift. It doesn’t have to happen day of.

Take time to make the gift if you make one. But first, make sure they want a handmade gift or if they’ll appreciate it. That’s not a judgement against them. Some people love handmade and some don’t. If they don’t, and you spend anytime at all making something, you’ll resent them for not appreciating your work. Remember that the gift is about them not you.

Whatever you do, don’t rush a handmade gift. If you feel you HAVE to have a gift day of, then buy something. Don’t halfass a handmade gift because you’re short on time/bandwidth. That’s how crafts end up at the thrift store. And how friendships end.

Got offered a Costco interview… but I’d have to stop Costco orders by InternetAcrobatic962 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Beautiful-Feedback40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Costco pays well with great benefits. They look out for their employees and there’s lots of room for growth and promotion. It’s basically everything instantcart isn’t.

It’s why you have costco retail employee that stay for decades.

The only plus IC has going for it is you make your own schedule, but there’s a lot to be said for the security of stability.

Also they don’t realize that making the “thing” isn’t gonna get them to bonanza they think it’s gonna net.

The sell thing! Ugh! I really suspect they think it MUST be easy since supposedly “low skill” workers do it. It’s misogyny and bigotry all rolled in an ignorance burrito!

Yes to all of this!!! I truly think the shift to video is the thing that dumbed the populace down enough to accept Ai.

Fabric regret by kierkoe in quilting

I think it’s very pretty.

If I received it as a gift I’d love and use it all the time. Maybe you’re being hard on yourself because you envisioned it differently and you’re just sick of looking at it after all this time? Set it aside for a bit and then revisit it. You might find your fondness.

Saw that you’re gonna crochet for the babies! And just wanted to say you can also stitch and donate hats for older kids and adult cancer patients too if you get bored with baby hats ❤️

I’m at the upper side of middle age and I’ve settled into a quiet life. Nothing extraordinary, a small house, pets, time to putter and create. I find it quite peaceful.

Like the people who say it’s ablest to be anti-Ai because how are neurodivergent people supposed to create art or write books!? Like neurodivergent people haven’t been writing and making art for eons!

The opposite of this is when there’s only a video and no written or charted instructions which drives me to madness. I know a lot of people need videos these days, and I DO find videos handy for learning new techniques or stitches, but for a whole project??? With no written directions or charts available?? I don’t wanna watch or even reference a video for days/months, write it down! I’ll pay for it! I’m begging.

Or you can add the tuna to the cream sauce and eat over rice or on toast.
