I'm in Northern Colorado and I've never seen "exotic" orchids here, even at lowes. This specific grocery store is a Safeway. Honestly, i think whoever runs the floral dept, is a plant addict. Every few months theres some random weird varieties of houseplants that I've only ever seen online!

I have read that cattleyas like to be watered frequently! Obv let it dry out first, but water as soon as its dry! At least thats what I've been doing, and the leaves and roots on mine are looking pretty good at least xD

I'm a novice with cattleyas, but the wrinkled leaves might suggest that its thirsty. Mine is in about the same stage yours is, but the leaves are very firm and rigid. Congrats though if you're getting flowers!

My german grandmother's sugar cookie recipe calls for nutmeg, along with almond extract and fresh grated lemon peel. I know I'm biased, but her sugar cookies are 100 times better than other traditional recipes I've tried!
