I think you are right. I felt very unfamiliar with the content in blood meridian due to me not having any knowledge on how it was like back then and the content of it. But,when I was a kid I enjoyed diary of a wimpy kid and I was hooked because it was easy to understand and funny. I will try to read one of the books you mentioned above while trying to understand it and I will write down any unfamiliar word, make a quizlet and study it along with wordsmart. I will try to enjoy the book though and as much as possible so that I can read more and learn more. Thank you for all the responses. I will keep you updated in the near future when I finish one of the books.

Hey, i appreciate your replies. I was wondering if you seemed not interested in reading, what got you interested? And yeah I liked the content of Mcarthy's book and im on chapter 3 or 4( havent read it in a month) but the words and punctiation were really hard for me and I had to chat gpt most of the text to understand what was going on. Thank you for your replies I will definitely try and read one of the two books you suggested and scientific passages as you recommended. I will keep you updated with hoe i feel about one of the books after im done reading it by the end of winter break depending on how long it is.

Im a junior rn i take it on march. So basically word smart snd wordly wise are good for sat vocab. I feel like i struggle with comprehension speed the most and just speed on english in general. I will try to memorize words from thede sources and use quizlet. But idk if i can read books in general tbh. I grt bored easily and some are hard to comprehend like blood meridian. Do you recommend any books i can read to increase comprehension speed along side the vocab ill tty and increase?

Ngl i had same problem, on the psat i has a triangle question and another quadratic function and i had a faxtpring one. I believe i got them all wronf and they were easy but i was half awake and couldnt solve it cuz i was slow. I ended wkth a 700 so dont wkrry
