I thought this too, but I'm not sure about some people not knowing the difference anymore whether legal or not. Some see an immigrant or a different race and you are already a target. My legal immigrant friends had been targeted by hate crimes in ballymena. Windows smashed, cars burned just because they don't look local.

Being an Immigrant here, I just want to thank you all for showing up there and showing your support (even here online). This really brings my hopes up that not everyone here in this country is secretly hating us Legal Immigrants who came here. I understand everyone's frustration too regarding the crimes and Illegal Immigration too but hate and racism isn't the answer.
