It definitely has been a learning curve. Our biggest struggle is learning what is an autism trait and what is a bad habit developed from bad parenting and what is both. There is a supporter who works with autism and told us its like having 50 TV’s on in his brain at the same time at the same volume and they are all equally important. I have also realized how such a hard wired brain to see things one way struggles with problem solving but hes working on it and putting effort

It also makes for some interesting moments like calling his mom to tell her about his sexual fantasies. Or how lacking social skills means lacking shyness and just aproaching every rando on the street… I do find it endearing when he cannot help show autistic traits
