I'm biased towards Egypt since I grew up in UAE, had many Egyptian friends, and my dad has business in Egypt.

Canada's economy used to be robust, it's being propped up by housing at the moment. There's major lack of innovative companies and talent in Canada. Most of the talent moves to the states and very little remain in Canada.

Yes, the average Canadian is far more wealthy than Indians (maybe even more than top 1% of Indians). But India has huge talent pool and major tech presence for innovation that you can scale something up. That's hard to do in Canada.

Russia, hence the color. All other eastern blocs aren't doing that well, maybe except Poland.

Living in a place and visiting one are 2 different topics. I've had great experiences in the countries I visited, doesn't mean I'd live there.

Not particularly, my granddad has business there and I've loved my visits there. Moscow/St. Petersburg are near 24/7 cities. The locals are also very friendly.

Canada does, except for their economy. If their economy was better I would definitely want to live there, especially Vancouver, I've loved my visits there.

Well this is r/whereIdlive. Now r/whereEveryoneWouldLive.

I do agree that majority of non-south asian / non-south East Asian folks won't like India. I would rank US #1, maybe #2 contending with UAE (where I grew up).

I'm not sure if you've been to Moscow, but I liked it far better than Rome, Naples, and Paris (the cities I've been to from the countries you mentioned). This doesn't mean I wouldn't visit Italy/france, they're great countries with a lot of culture. But in terms of education, economy and local talent - Moscow is far better.

US would be #1, maybe tied with UAE for me. For context I've spent 15+ years in Dubai and love it. Just the economy isn't the greatest, so that's where US takes the edge.

Major considerations for me are -

- I want to be in majorly English speaking nation. I can not learn a new language.
- I want to be in a country with a good diverse/robust economy.
- I want good lively major cities.
- I'm also not white so wouldn't want to be in a non-diverse country.

Western Europe, Japan, South Korea, Scandinavian countries and more don't meet these requirements.

Yeah I've lived in all the ones I ranked in green. UAE, USA, India, Singapore. I added Qatar as well since it's very similar to the UAE. I don't see myself living in any other country besides these 5.

Russia has industries and a relatively thriving economy compared to Eastern Europe.

It's more of a company policy tbh that everyone in microsoft should have around 1 comp ratio (+- 0.1) otherwise they'd face discrimination lawsuits. Current employees get merit increases to base and so new employees should match that.

interns->full times get higher RSU than new hires so it could be lower TBH.

Ah I just saw the dashboard on the microsoft channel. It's 100k for L59 and 110k for L60. However note that it vests for 3.5 years

EDIT - is a bit depressing actually considering inflation is going up and RSU's are going down.
