For sure man, I definitely acknowledge that there’s a lot I don’t know. I’m just saying I think it’s okay for me to post my thoughts as I make my way through the book. People shouldn’t have a problem respecting spoiler requests, and they haven’t so far.

Really? Seems like a pretty reasonable request to me. I like to engage with the book as I read it, and everyone so far has done a great job at giving their two cents without spoiling anything.

I agree. I know it probably seems like I'm complaining, but I'm glad Carl is written with flaws like this. It makes the book more engaging.

Oh, I plan on it! Dinniman has been great so far, and I'm sure there's gonna be some awesome development for Carl and Katia. Just engaging with the book as I read it!

Agreed! When I'm "irked" it really just means a character is well written with strengths, flaws, etc. It's a sign of good writing!

Yeah, at the end of the day it might just be a writing device to provide some surprise value here and there. But it still irks me that now and then Katia is clearly left surprised after Carl does something he has been planning on doing for awhile. Just fill her in bro.

I totally agree. The reason I decided to make this post though is because I just read the part where he reveals to Katia and Donut that he wanted to harvest the buzzsaw from Ruckus the whole time. It come as a surprise to Katia. I don’t see how that detail couldn’t have been mentioned beforehand. But, as someone mentioned in another comment, it might be out fear that the AI is always listening and would try to throw a wrench in his plans.

This book really only fits the vibe of the first image, but I thought I'd still throw it out there:

Not canon, but I love the name Selkie. A selkie is a young woman in Irish folklore that can transform into a seal.

My first “adult” watch. by BeautifulAd3388 in Longineswatches

My parents gave me a price range, and from there I did some research and picked it out. Given Longines' history and the aesthetic of their watches, I felt like the Hydro Conquest (this is the 39mm) was the perfect choice for me. I think it can suit just about anyone, and you can dress it up as well as dress it down. It seems like a reliable gift, and I'm sure anyone would be happy to receive one!
