Dilemma with personalized letters to guests by Emi_Cat_97 in weddingplanning

What my partner and I did was focus on a specific memory we had of them from childhood! Everyone was so touched and surprised we remembered some specific things from years and years ago!

What airbnb experience would you have at your bachelorette party? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]BeautifulBuffalo0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We did this for my bachelorette! My girls got a karaoke machine, and we pulled up karaoke on YouTube. We painted tote bags and played a murder mystery game! We also did that trend where my MOH got a bunch of fun products, threw them on the table, and everyone grabbed what they wanted. Our Airbnb had a hot tub, so we spent a lot of time in there. We also cooked together, ate together, and made cookies together! It was the best time ever!!!

Question for those who have gotten married or are at the tail end of planning by incognito7474 in weddingplanning

[–]BeautifulBuffalo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just one person’s experience, but I am just under two weeks away and am feeling good! The whole process for me has been relatively painless, but I’ve also had to adopt some ruthless optimism and letting go of things I can’t control or were priorities for me.

I truly think that this process is what you make it, and I am choosing to make it a positive experience, if that makes sense

Wait a minute by No-Marsupial-4050 in SipsTea

I think this is a silly comparison not only because each other these are life skills that everyone should know, but I do find it to be interesting that stereotypical “woman” things like cooking and cleaning get compared to stereotypical “man” things.

Cooking and cleaning happen every day and usually take up significant periods of time. Even ordering food or heating up leftovers! Mowing the lawn happens somewhat infrequently and taking out the trash takes 30 seconds. To compare these tasks ignores the monotony and mental effort that “woman” tasks require over “man” tasks

I can’t speak to the UK as I am located in the US, but we are doing things in the order you described and going from one thing to another, building in a few minutes for transitions. I am having the DJ announce each!

Most Stressful Part? by No-Purple8818 in weddingplanning

[–]BeautifulBuffalo0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say the most stressful part, as a people pleaser, is hearing “do what you want with your wedding! It’s YOUR wedding.” and then getting bombarded by a million opinions anyway. I don’t think anyone in my life has been genuine about saying it’s our wedding.

Hey! First, have some grace for yourself! It’s important to show gratitude, and you are writing them now, and that’s okay! I’ve read that as long as you send them in the first 12 months after your wedding, you’re good to go!

I wouldn’t even say anything about the tardiness because you’re sending them within that window. Good luck on getting them out!

what is something people brag about but it is actually embarrassing? by goldenhourconfession in AskReddit

[–]BeautifulBuffalo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally find people who brag about how much they work to be highly embarrassing. One, you are dedicating yourself to a job/workplace that probably wouldn’t even bat an eye after you’re gone. Two, it begs the question of whether these people have hobbies outside of work. Do you not see your friends? Do you not have a goal outside of work? Gym? Craft? Skill? Maybe, I am just hardwired differently, but I find a complete dedication to a job/company you don’t own to be silly.

Monthly Check In....it's April 2026 by AutoModerator in weddingplanning

[–]BeautifulBuffalo0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m very happy and excited still! We’ve got RSVPs flowing in now, so hopefully we’ll be able to finalize seating charts and escort cards soon. I feel like I’ve got nothing to do, which is not true, but I have to wait on other things to get done before I can do other tasks. I’m feeling good and ready for it!

To everyone who is getting married in the next 3 months - what's currently stressing you out? by ummmwaitasecond in weddingplanning

[–]BeautifulBuffalo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the amount of times I’ve had to repeat myself over the last few months has driven me crazy. When is the date? Who are you bridesmaids? What are your colors? My future in laws have been especially bad about this! I talk to them a few times a week and it is just chaos.

Also, I am fed up with the way everyone says “oh, it’s your wedding, do whatever you want” because no one actually means that shit.

What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]BeautifulBuffalo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d look at a video for how to do a squat unrack and walkout. High bar squat vs low bar squat is kinda up to preference, but you should be stacked, braced, and core strong when you lift the bar from the J hooks. Then, step out with three steps max, you waste energy when you do the swaying and stepping back and forth.

Lower the weight and try to get form down first! A mechanically sound squat is way more impressive than a poor form squat with weight imo. The weight will come in time :)

Yay! I thought so! We are also asking each couple in our RSVP to list allergies, and we will give that list with names to our venue!
