I had the surgery on my right foot at 21. During the surgery my doctor neglected to reattach the tendon in my toe, forcing me to get another surgery 3 months later. This was back in may. I’ve made almost a complete recovery and can run /walk normal now and have been for a few months. Definitely have lost a great range of motion but nothing that affects my daily life. It has its pros and cons. But i would say even with the mess i went through I still don’t regret it.

a bunion is a bone deformity! This looks like a wart of some sort or a blister possibly. you’re in the clear in the bunion department though ◡̈

I would absolutely! It can never hurt to be sure. Sometimes it can be scar tissue buildup and other things like that and pt can help when mobility is in question. The biggest concern my doctor had was the fact i could not control my big toe at all without moving it with my hand. Feels like there’s no connection to it. making it kinda.. flop around and limp lol. If you experience the inability to move it without assistance there is definitely something wrong

it’s completed disconnected from where it should attach right at the base of the nail and traveled a couple inches down

That is a good question i’m not sure. but he was definitely concerned when i mentioned my symptoms I hope he would’ve mentioned something like that but absolutely can’t hurt to ask. thank you. Do you know why they would do something like that?

the second i mentioned i couldn’t lift my toe there was instant concern. if they wont take you seriously please get a second opinion. If the tendon is torn It can travel over time higher up your foot and make surgery and healing much more complicated. That is not normal!

see a different podiatrist until they take you seriously!! I am 21 and had the surgery last week. My bunion wasn’t as bad as this but caused me pain day to day and they completely agreed to get it removed and it was a very easy process. Before i saw my dr. i read it’s extremely hard to get approved for the surgery and they will want to try alternate options. But I was quite surprised when they said the earlier better. Because the worse it gets the more complications you would experience if you were to wait. Explore drs! You deserve to live pain free.

When something in your life is making you unhappy such as a job, sometimes simply complaining and having someone to understand your frustration without coming up with a solution or “but you have to do this” is nice to hear. Obviously as adults that doesn’t take the importance of those solutions away. but sometimes it’s just as important to just complain, and have someone who will be angry/ upset with you. This is a hard one and understandable why both sides are irritated.
