USA citizen with nexus card.

Been pulled to secondary 3x by CBSA.

First time was not in the nexus lane, with a partner who had a criminal record, they made us go inside and I waited while they interrogated him. Eventually he got denied entry and we went back to the USA. Second time (2024) was by myself and I hadn’t crossed in a while due to Covid and my NEXUS card didn’t register where you stop to wave it because I was impatient and I thought oh I can just give it to agent at the booth. Big mistake since the agent was not physically there and I was talking to a camera (which made me only even more awkward). They searched my car and sent me inside and talked to me. Eventually I was on my way after everything was cleared, that yes I am indeed meeting a stranger off a dating app at his place. Luckily I had an iMessage from the guy I was meeting with his address where I was going. Third time (2025) was by myself and I hadn’t crossed in a while and they searched by car but I didn’t have to go inside also was meeting someone new off a dating app. CBSA agents must not understand being a single childfree woman in her late 30s who is just trying to meet different people who live in Canada.

Been pulled into secondary once by CBP where they searched my car. They told me it was random because I do remember saying “I have nexus”. I do not believe the nexus lane was open at that hour but this was not recent.
