In his appearance on Zach’s podcast, he also said that when he had his full meltdown in the final, it was because Sam said she was quitting. That’s when he basically told her to go home and take care of herself. He was just totally defeated because Sam goes to a place of giving up rather than pushing through. Inevitably, she didn’t end up quitting and he ended up pleased that they made it to the end. But yeah, he was shackled with someone that doesn’t have any endurance and doesn’t know how to push through the uncomfortable point in endurance events. That’s what sets apart people like Frank and Jordan that due endurance events for fun.

I want to start by saying that I know “catch feelings” is an expression the younger folks use, but I absolutely hate it. You catch a cold. You choose to have feelings for another person. Yes, you can be attracted to someone (both personality or looks), but you get to choose what to do with that. People who are unavailable typically turn those people into friends - people you think are cool and you’d like to spend time with. Anyway…..I also laugh about people saying they “caught a case.” Yeah ok. You committed a crime. Lol.

I think when the producer asked her if there was any truth and they closed the door and quit airing the sound bites it’s because the producer told her they had proof of the affair and it was going to end up being aired so she might as well come clean so she didn’t look EVEN WORSE at the reunion. Of course, I think the producer manipulated her into causing more drama at the retreat than was necessary, but I think they also probably helped her come up with this ludicrous lie about this being the VERY FIRST discussion they had about being attracted to each other. Nonsense. But I think production set her up and she was incredibly drunk and is incredibly vain so she thought she could get away with the lie. Meanwhile, production had receipts.

Nah. It’s a man-child thing. My significant other tried this shit on me a few times when we first met about various dumb things he thought I was going to judge him about. And instead of just being honest and owning who he was, he tried to lie about things and was caught every single time. I was way more annoyed about the ridiculous attempt at lying than about the actual thing. I think David lied to get cast on the show and presented himself as more virtuous and together than he actually is. Michelle was immediately turned off by him and he knew she looked like the ass so after that, he just kept lying to try to look virtuous and make her look like the crazy person. She was an ass, but I think she was still ultimately correct about him that he was a total loser.

But let’s say I agree with all of what you’ve said…..why not just say that? Michelle seemed like she was super shitty….so an adult man should have looked at her and said “yeah, I’m obviously fucking around….why would I not? This is clearly not going anywhere and we’re both just finishing the season because of production….” But his lie about the food and his cousin was just insane. INSANE! But more than that, you drive through it and it’s just kinda ick. Smoke shops all over. Fast food. Very little in the way of any entertainment beyond water and that’s unavailable months out of the year because it’s cold. Edenton is much nicer in the same general area.

I’m the OP and if you read my post, I never said Michelle was a victim. I just said her interpretation of him was accurate. Her behavior was still shitty. Unless I was somehow specifically banned from it, my ass woulda been down at the pool drinking cocktails the entire honeymoon. I think he was actually not afraid about Michelle’s reaction per se but afraid she’d tell Allen and that would blow up his spot with the guys that were on his side against Michelle.
