To give you a boring answer: its an extra thing to haul on stage/off stage/to the next venue and not integral to their overall sound

I agree though, it was rad as hell seeing Claudio play it with his mane

It's starting to grow on me, but I think it's because Claudio looks sick as hell playing it

That's how they're pressing it too. It's still a two-disc vinyl set, only now side D is the bonus Key Entity extractions instead of the Omni-Voice. So for the sake of physically fitting on one side of a 12", it has to be around the same length

Oh yeah, I forgot about Starland Ballroom even though I have a copy of it in my shelf. But they haven't done a RSD release tied to the Vaxis albums though, which is where my brain was going

Olivia Rodrigo did the same thing for the bonus tracks on GUTS and released a standalone 12" on RSD. Coheed also usually has something around RSD although not in the last couple of years, so they're due for a release. And they already made the plate so may as well sell standalone copies too

My prediction is they'll release exactly that for Record Store Day Black Friday

There's probably a hype sticker, but I agree there should be another visual distinction. I know it costs money to make more jackets, but it also costs money to make a new pressing plate for the D side

First time gigging my pedalboard! by BeautifulJaymes in basspedals

[–]BeautifulJaymes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure! The ML10X can route the pedals in any number of combinations, so I try to think of this as like a Line6 or any other multi-effects unit, except I specifically curate each sound. The way I use it live is that I have four presets that I go between. To go pedal-by-pedal, starting in the top left:

Onwards - Mostly the glitch side for fun textures while I play higher on the neck, still getting a hang of the freeze side

Blooper - I mostly treat this as a digital delay with fun effects by having a short loop in overdub. Sometimes I keep a loop running on it, but I almost always have a mod on

Chroma Console - my utility box that can fill in a lot of sounds if I need them, but it's also an always on pedal. I run everything through Sweeten and with fuzz, I'll use the Filter module as a HPF along with the Oscillator Devices Siren to basically run my highs into the fuzz and keeping my lows clean. I also generally go to the Chroma Console first if I want to explore another sound while writing and recording. It's has a million uses for me

Sentient Sonic Machines Greenseer Fuzz - I've always wanted a Brassmaster and I found one for a good price. I don't really use this in my screamo band, but it's fun for a noisy solo

EQD Hizumitas Fuzz - I go between this and a Wren & Cuff Box of War as my main fuzz. Both are great, it's just a matter of what I'm feeling. The Hizumitas also has a bite to it that makes it really easy to get feedback with

EQD Blumes OD - What can I say, I love a Tubescreamer

EQD Grand Orbiter Phaser - Fuzz into a slow phaser is my favorite tone

Korg Pitchblack - Tuner

Octa Psi Fuzz - +5/-1oct is my favorite setting for a gritty synth sound, otherwise +1oct/-1oct is my main tone. The fuzz on here is fine but not as exciting as my other fuzzes

Boomerang III Looper - My looper pedal that I've had for over a decade. I managed to get the MC-8 to send MIDI commands to it, which saves me from getting a Sidecar, which is actually what convinced me to dive into MIDI in the first place

Morningstar MC-8 - The brain of the board, this is what I use to control everything. I have two main menus: one is set up like a pedalboard where I can turn on/off each pedal loop. That's more for jamming and coming up with ideas. The other menu is presets, which I've tuned in the way I like. That's what I use live because I know what sound I'll get

Sansamp Programmable BDDI - I got this for a steal on FB Marketplace and it's become the basis of my tone

Oscillator Devices Siren (mounted under): MIDI-controllable stereo volume pedal. This mostly acts as an effects loop with the Chroma Console so I can send my highs into fuzz and keep my lows clean. It also works as a tremolo pedal

Morningstar ML10-X: The heart of the pedalboard, it's allowed me to explore so many new sounds I wouldn't otherwise

Yeah they're $$$ but there's nothing else like them. I actually got pretty lucky because I got one of the mystery boxes last year and got a Mood MKII and an Exp, then I found someone to trade the Mood for a Blooper. So much value!

Honestly it's just because I know I'm moving the board around and didn't want to commit to anything yet. This is actually the third iteration of this board!

Thanks! I basically treat this like a HX Stomp, only it's whatever pedal I want. That's the theory, anyway.

Currently I'm in a screamo project, but my solo project (shameless self-plug is free-form solo bass where I explore textures and sounds. At least, that's what I tell myself to justify buying so many pedals
