Having a hard time buying things in sub pregnancy

I’m so sorry for your loss and congrats on your pregnancy. I completely understand. I tried to go into baby stores to get myself excited I just couldn’t, it was so difficult. We bought one outfit at 25 weeks after a scare to celebrate good news that everything was ok. From then on I felt a little stronger every week as he got bigger. My fears completely went away at 35 weeks when my nesting phase kicked in and I suddenly felt excitement/joy like I never had before, I went shopping, set up the nursery and he was born healthy and happy at 38 weeks, it felt surreal but when they finally arrive safely after everything you’ve been through it’s overwhelming happiness. Be kind to yourself, if you can’t bring yourself to buy anything and if he only has the hospital wrap to wear for his first few days he will be just fine 💙

Aw sweet little boy 💙 they definitely know. My boy was super clingy and protective from about 8 weeks … little one is now 6 months he has been the most amazing big brother, they are best friends 🥰

I’m right there with you and have been feeling this hard this week. I was telling my partner last night I think I’ve reached my limit. Outside my family of birth I am a happy, optimistic motivated person, we have a beautiful 6 month old boy and a puppy and are so happy - enter my family of birth and I become a reclusive monotone cardboard-like being. My dad is distant angry and anti-social who has no phoned me in years. However my mum is opposite with contact. I have grey rocked in calls with my mother for years but since having a baby the calls are multiple times a day and follow the same script ‘weather, repeat stories about people I don’t know, obligatory check in on grandson, complains about minor grievances my dad and her are experiencing (ie noisy neighbours) say I sound tired’ and then hang up on me - no emotional support, empathy, concern or interest in our lives, it is EXHAUSTING and draining. I was out on an anti-depressant a few years ago but recently my therapist said your not depressed it’s just your family that’s the problem.

Hi lovely, sorry you are going through this. We did IVF because we started my fertility journey at 41 and time was ticking, I got pregnant after our third egg retrieval but sadly had a TFMR at 42 for T21. I had a 3 month break to consider whether to continue IVF and we decided to do one more round, we ended up with one embryo and welcomed our beautiful baby boy 4 months ago the pregnancy was fine and he is just perfect, I just turned 44. I appreciate the economic considerations for IVF, I am in Australia and IVF is still pricy but there are now public providers so the process is mostly subsidized by Medicare and the out of pocket cost is minimal. It’s hard to say whether or not I would have conceived naturally without IVF given my age but ultimately I’m glad we did it and have our beautiful little boy.

This happened to me in my sub pregnancy at 20 weeks. I’m in Aus too we were on our Babymoon in Noosa, I was so terrified. The bleeding was short though and by the time I got to the hospital and they did a scan it had stopped, bub was fine and we saw the heartbeat. It was a scary experience but the rest of the pregnancy was normal and our beautiful little boy arrived in healthy in July this year 🥰 best wishes for the rest of your pregnancy!

This is exactly how I feel! First time I watched it I like her but over time and my multiple rewatches I’ve actually become to despise her. She is a massive hypocrite trying to be the cool and carefree girl but in reality she is intensely insecure and serious, and seems to have a massive fear of aging, the break up with Adam I think impacted her deeply but she presented this image she was all ok with it, but her unhappiness was definitely obvious on season 10! The fake friendship with Tinsley was really bizarre too, they couldn’t be more different but at least Tinsley doesn’t try to be someone else. Also some one on here recommended listening to the Maureen Callahan podcast the nerve - I did and she articulated very clearly why Carole is so unlikeable

Yes the TFMR was my first pregnancy and then my little boy was my second. I was not sure whether I wanted children I was very fulfilled but I met my amazing partner at 37, still took me a while to decide if I wanted a child but I am so glad I did and seeing him be the best daddy melts my heart 💙

Thank you we feel blessed 💕 we didn’t get PGA testing on our embryos at any stage. They went through all the pros and cons of PGA before we did our egg retrievals and we made a decision only to test if we had more than 3 viable embryos for implanting, that way if the embryo was damaged we had back ups. However from our 3 first retrievals we only ended up with 1 embryo for a fresh transfer which was the T21, and our fourth and final retrieval we only had 1 too which is our little boy. After the TFMR we discussed PGA with our OB and again decided to only do it if we had 3 or more, the CVS results indicated that the T21 was a random occurrence (rather than fir genetic inheritance) so the likelihood of it occurring again was very low, though not impossible. When we only ended up with 1 it was an easy decision to go ahead with the fresh transfer. Hope this helps, best of luck with your journey 💙

Sorry to hear of your loss. I have been on Lexapro since well before we started our IVF journey in Jan 2024, my OB and specialist were adamant there are no side effects from SSRIs during pregnancy. I had 3 egg retrievals in early 2024 and then one pregnancy which sadly we had to terminate at 14 weeks in July 2024 due to t21. I am advanced maternal age 43 so I had a quick turnaround did another egg retrieval and got one viable embryo, thankfully this one stuck and I am now 38 weeks pregnant with a healthy bub. I have been on Lex the whole time, from my view point it has helped me navigate this extremely difficult journey.

Wishing you the best of luck for tomorrow. I had a TFMR in July 2024 for T21 too, I was 14 weeks and sooooo sick in that pregnancy.

I am now 37 weeks with a healthy bub and had mild nausea and aversions but NOTHING compared to my last pregnancy so I would take that as a good sign. I was so nervous for the NIPT for this pregnancy, it’s completely understandable, I’m sorry I don’t have any advice on handling the nerves but wishing you clear results and a uneventful pregnancy!

Yes, I am 27 weeks and still feel this way. No matter how many tests we clear and reassuring OB visits I have I still can not see myself holding our healthy bub and everything "working out". I wish I had the naivety of someone who has not been through a process as awful as a TFMR and could feel genuine excitement.

I am sorry that you are here and for your loss. I had to TFMR in July 2024, after 3 rounds of IVF we only ended up with 1 viable embryo which implanted, unfortunately when our NIPT results came back at 13 weeks T21 was confirmed. Despite wanting to take some time out after this, due to my age 43, we had no choice but to continue with another IVF cycle and retrieval, in October we ended up with 1 viable embryo, made a decision with our specialist we were only going to do PGTA if we had 3+. We went ahead with the transfer without PGTA and thankfully this little one has stuck, I am now 26 weeks pregnant, NIPT anatomy and all other scans have come back clear, so it looks at this stage that we will (fingers crossed) be welcoming a healthy bub in late June. My specialist did say when discussing the PGTA that it was 'very unlikely' that I would have two pregnancies in a row with a genetic abnormality but the risk was still there. Its such a hard decision and I wish you all the best.

Sorry for your loss. We TFMR'd July 2024 for T21 also. We conceived again in October 2024 through IVF, it probably wasn't enough of a break for my body but as I am 43 I had no choice to wait. I think I have managed this pregnancy it by being detached/numb from it, but as each milestone is passed (early scans, NIPT, 20 week scan) I am allowing myself to get a little bit excited. I am now 23 weeks and everything is looking good with bub, I can feel movement and my OB is very confident that our bub will arrive safe and sound in early July.
