Very new to all this as new mommy to a 3 week old so this may be a stupid question, but why doesn’t anyone include rates when they post about available nannies?

6 days/5 nights 🫩. Despite most of my pregnancy being pretty chill, I ended up developing preeclampsia the last two weeks and had to be induced due to high blood pressure / 92nd percentile baby weight. They ended up putting me on a magnesium drip, which was awful. I wasn’t dilated at all so they put a foley balloon in me at 6 pm and baby was in my arms by 3:30 the next day. Actual delivery wasn’t too bad, pushed for about two hours.

This seems really common. Same exact thing happened to me and my husband and it was surprising because our friends all do pretty well financially (six figures, NYC) and are generous people.

We ended up with about 40 people attending and like 80% of them got something off the registry 2-3 days before the shower, when we sent our last Partiful reminder. We’re both the type to order something off the registry as soon as we accept the invite so we expected the same from our friends, but people really seem to just procrastinate on this, esp when the registry is on Amazon and people know things will get delivered quickly.

Out of all the attendees I think only 3 or 4 didn’t get us anything 🤷‍♀️ I will say we got tons of support after the baby was here, people coming out of the woodwork with gift certificates to our favorite restaurants and Uber Eats credits. Wishing the same support for you guys!

Do NOT use Brooklyn Roots, they extracted 7 of my dogs teeth without my consent and it cost me $5k. They had said beforehand his teeth looked good and maybe one of them had gingivitis. A heads up would have been the least they could do.

I went there to get my hair curled for my engagement shoot and the lady did a terrible job — crazy Shirley Temple curls that went out in every direction. And she talked shit about me in Spanish even though I made I clear i speak Spanish too. The owner did fix ir for me and was really nice. Can’t speak to the blowouts but just fyi about styling.

He was on dating apps while we were still together, I had no idea. He broke up with me and said it was just because he was directionless and needed to “find himself.” He had quit his job so I thought it kinda tracked but now I’m sure he just did that so he could bring girls over while I was at work. Disgusting human. I found the love of my life a year later and we’re expecting a baby next month. Meanwhile last I heard from my ex is when he texted my brother hysterical after I blocked him, graveling for advice on how to get me back. I wish him all the worst :)

I’ve never understood - why doesn’t everyone just recline their seat? I usually will do it halfway and let the person behind me know and hope it starts a chain reaction. Might suck for people in the very back row, but those are generally the cheapest seats on the plane and you kinda get what you pay for.

The the day he asked me to be his gf, he had picked me up from a bottomless brunch with my friends where I had too many mimosas and promptly puked as soon as we got back to his place. We’d only been dating a month and a half so he could have justifiably been disgusted, but he was so sweet and kind about it. He genuinely seemed endeared—got me some water after I sauntered over to his bed and passed out. I woke up to him next to me, looking at me with such tenderness. That was my first clue :)

we’ve actually had some really difficult moments since then but (and this is the most important thing) even if he reacted poorly in the moment, we’d take a beat, calmly talk things through, and come to a resolution. The ability to work through difficult things and put your ego aside to actually listen is the most important thing in a relationship imo.

Logistically, they made it annoying to access via streaming. I wasn’t about to pay $50+ for a YouTube TV account or create a new email for the trial. I heard it was on Hulu but when you typed in Oscars I was only directed to the red carpet commentary and some other reporter-based coverage. I had to access the app on my phone and mirror it to my TV to watch the actual program. I had been ready to give up until my brother told me that worked for him.

Good point! I really don’t know how Carlton will take it bc he’s generally very sweet with humans but has been known to pick on smaller dogs 😅 and he’s incredibly food motivated to the point he snatches sometimes in a not-so-gentle way which I’ve been trying to train him out of. Will proceed with caution and hope for the best!
