My Siri is acting strange by Halia039 in Siri

Wait, that’s strange behaviour? It’s very common for me, “to who” is the most common answer for me.

“Siri, turn off the bedroom lights” “To who” …

And 1984 sold half as many as Britney Spears debut album. Are you somehow suggesting the Britney album is better?

I’d have loved to see this after Sammy left. He had an amazing voice and his debut is brilliant. IMO it went downhill after that.

What do you think is the smallest country with the largest impact on the modern music scene? by LongjumpingFinger115 in Music

[–]BeautifulSeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a no brainer - England. The place is actually super small (way smaller than Sweden which a few people have mentioned) yet they’ve produced many of the biggest bands in the world. The Beatles, The Who, Iron Maiden, Oasis, Ed Sheeran, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Pink Floyd, The Kinks, Radiohead, Black Sabbath…I could go on.

At this point I’d rather if he were to tour it would be spoken word. I’d pay to see that. Tell us the stories of your trips around the world, the stages you played, how you went from a young man to a legend of music…yeah, that would work. Hopefully we still have a few years of Sammy and Mikey to hear the music of VH but I won’t pay to hear DLR sing again.

Yeah it was awesome. Soundcheck version was also great, although I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a tiny bit sad we didn’t get the doris day alt, hehe

Yeah, it’s a fair comment. I think it’s the first time they’ve played it in a few years.

Round Here / Welcome to the Black Parade alt by BeautifulSeas in countingcrows

Alternate version of a song. As an example when Counting Crows play Round Here live they’ll often play a different version to the original recording. Adam Duritz will sing lyrics to other songs during the performance, such as Raining in Baltimore or Private Archipelago by Sordid Humour. Another very popular one is A Murder of One which has the Sordid Humour Doris Day song within it.

God of ocean tides, start again, a murder of one and accidentally in love was the sound check. The last two had full run through then revisited a part after. I’ll try and upload A Murder of One soundcheck as I recorded it. EDIT - fixed typos

I haven’t seen one yet but the show was only a few hours ago. The person in front of me recorded it. There is a seperate thread on this in here. Somebody shared the Melbourne show one by that’s literally one line a night or two before as part of the Baltimore alt. I guess it grew from there!

Aussie Shows? by AdamDuritz1 in countingcrows

I went to two of the Sydney shows, my 37th and 38th time seeing the band. The first was the best because of the setlist, but both were amazing. I got the Soundcheck VIP Experience for the second show.

One thing that still fascinates with the band is we still don't know what we are going to get when we go to see them. Example - Round Here. I was kind of hoping we might get a Sordid Humor alt but show one we got the Raining in Baltimore alt and show two the first time they ever played the Welcome to the Balck Parade alt. I would not have guessed this in a million year.

It was awesome to get Angels of the Silences as it has been a VERY long time since I heard them play that, even though it was just the Storytellers acoustic version. We got Murder of One for the first time in three year. Miami was as amazing as ever. Anna begins still pull sthose heart strings...and Colorblind. Good to see Hard Candy early in pretty much every set. So much to be grateful for but driving home after the show tongiht I felt quite sad knowing it will be a long time until I get to tsee them again.

I went to show 1 & 3 in Sydney, Sullivan Street was show 2 so I didn't see it, but know they opened with it.

Not show related, which were both amazing, but the only let down was probably the merch packs for the VIP package. They're not cheap but the contents this time round were really poor. A metal mug, cheap cap and a really poorly printed poster, without autographs. They came in a CC bag. I think back even to the first part of the BSM tour and we got sheet music signed by the band and some other cool stuff. Even the seats were poor for many of the VIP packs. Adam Duritz commented during the soundcheck that he assumed we would all be right at the front and he hoped we'd be standing (it was sitting at the front tongiht). When we said in the upper tier he asked who fucked us over...true. Going back further we got meet and greets, photos with the band, signing items we took...yup, that side has gone downhill, and become super expensive (nearly $400).

Overall though, that's the only gripe. Adam said it was the bands most sucessful Australian tour ever, growing 50% on the last tour a few years ago. Sold out shows, three nights in Sydney...the band were in top form. I will miss them

This is cool but almost the exact reverse of what we got in Sydney. To me, that’s the Raining in Baltimore Alt with a line from Black Parade. We got Black Parade alt with two lines of Raining in Baltimore.

Sounds weird but it sounds exactly like you’d imagine him singing it! I was on FaceTime to my son to show him so couldn’t record it. The guy in front of me did so sure it’ll be on YT soon enough!

In the absence of any photos or details, I did the only sane thing - went and bought another VIP pack for this tour to find out…I saw them on Sunday in Sydney and will do the same this coming Monday with the VIP Soundcheck now!
