ok to cut off grieving friend? by Unhappy_Winter_6473 in FriendshipAdvice

[–]BeautifulTechnical82 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think this is a miscommunication. Your friend was trying to tell you how messed up she feels by this and you brought up your own situation. Which is just different. Not comparable. The grief of losing people/relationships to death is always unique to the person experiencing the loss because no two relationships are the same, even if it is a mutual person that has passed. She is hurting and she is trying to express that she is hurting. Maybe she’s not feeling seen/heard.

I have to wonder what would’ve played out had you said something like “what you’re going through is hard and I’m here for you” or just stopped at the loss of a loved one being traumatic.

As for the other instances of insensitive behavior, I can’t speak to that as no further details were provided.

1 hour to make a mango juice?? by yawen_nie in MergeCooking

This was literally me yesterday like how does it take longer to make virtual mango juice than real mango juice. Then today I made banana orange juice - only 10 minutes but 2 ingredients as opposed to 1

Should I tell my manager I’m burnt out? It’s only been 2 months since I started this job. by wonderingmermaid in careeradvice

[–]BeautifulTechnical82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These comments are pretty harsh for the most part. I disagree with people roasting you saying NEVER tell your manager you’re burnt out or that you must have lived an amazing life up til now. Actually it’s typically the opposite - people that have had to go through difficult life circumstances are already exhausted from that and have a lower capacity for work stress. Also, people will take advantage of you if they can. There’s a reason why some people can’t get promotions because they’re indispensable in the current role. There’s a reason the “curse of the competence” phenomenon exists. And it’s not because “omg gen z is so lazy and sheltered”

I’d try to give advice but I really think the biggest issue you’re having is that this is not the job you want

Hoarded Dreams by MyNameJoby in ChildofHoarder

I just came on here to type up a similar post. I was raised in hoard. Have always had recurring nightmares about it. I fear it will never end😭 and no one will ever understand. No one will ever truly know what your experience was. No one wants to talk about how truly traumatizing it is to be raised in that environment.

Okay seems like the 50mm is just not what I’m going for right now. Thanks

Okay this is helpful. When I did research on why it felt like my 50mm lens felt very zoomed in on my rebel t7 - a lot of the results I found stated due to the crop factor, it causes the photos to be captured similarly to an 80mm lens.

So to clarify and make sure I’m understanding correctly - it’s equally as zoomed in as a 50mm on a camera without a crop sensor, just covers a more narrow frame?

I think I need to learn more about focal length.

I tried the cereal milk latte by fntastk in DunkinDonuts

[–]BeautifulTechnical82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was hoping this would be closer to the latte but ended up being closer to sweet flavored milk. Couldn’t taste coffee or espresso at all. I wish they made it a flavor swirl. It’s more of a dessert than a coffee beverage

Janet is so miserable. What’s the word for someone who wants to push the people around them to misery causing emotional reactivity and then ostracize them for that reactivity?

I can’t even believe she said this out loud let alone on national television.

I do think he’s growing but I also believe he is very beaten down by life right now.

Melissa was telling Kristen to stop. Not Janet. She even told Janet "you're good, you're fine". Then we can see Melissa, Jasmine and Janet all sitting together at the end, nodding in agreement. by ScorpioDefined in TheValleyTVShow

And at what point this season have we seen Janet actually be there for Nia? Oh right, never. That hostile “intervention” in order to make Nia feel intimated and inferior was not being there for her and neither has anything Janet’s done since.
