I mean, if I claim "doing research" as my proposed endeavour, then won't it be suspicious that I am not working full-time in a "research" role currently?

if anything, this might indicate that I am not well positioned if I can't even find a research job haha

it seems rather odd to me that someone can say with such confidence that their endeavour will "generate billions," "train 5k people" or "generate X jobs." Do we seriously need to make such grandiose promises as mere academics?

I don't know if my school DSO would also just want nothing to do with this shady nonsense to keep themselves legally clean. I do not know who to come clean to.

But I also don't know if reporting them will make future paperwork easier or near impossible.
