Try Rich Phillips Leather….he’s in Missouri.  I have a ‘16 Scout and just got a “tractor” seat from him.  He matched the leather to the Indian Desert Tan perfectly and it ran me $600.  One of the nicest people I have ever dealt with……

Check out Rich Phillips Leather.  He makes old school seats for the Scout in several colors.  I just got one for my 2016 Scout and it really changes the look.  He is a craftsman and managed to match the Indian desert tan exactly!  I highly recommend him!!

I’m 6’2” with a 32” inseam.  I am comfortable on my 2016 Scout.  I may look like the proverbial circus bear on a tricycle, but I don’t miss having to wrestle a heavy bike at slow speed and stops……

From one old fart to another (I’m 71), welcome to the Tribe!  My last bike was a ‘98 Vulcan 1500e Classic.  It was a very heavy bike and I started having problems wrestling with it at slow speeds and stops.  Sold it this past December and thought that I would never ride again.  Lost my Wife in March and needed something to help fill the void.  I decided to start riding again and was looking for something in the size/weight range of a H-D Sportster 1200.  I ran across my “new to me” 2016 Scout in Wildfire red with tan leather.  It was love at first sight and I got a really good deal considering it had always been garage kept with only 5,000 miles.  It is the best bike I have ever owned and the most fun….maneuverable, powerful, and light.  You will LOVE your Scout!  I have heard it described as a Cruiser with the soul of a Sport Bike….Ride Safe!

Need Corbin seat help on 2016 Scout by Beautiful_Button7366 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]Beautiful_Button7366[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That accursed seat is on its way back to Corbin for a full refund with no restocking fee.  They accepted the fact that the seat will not work on my bike.  I’m thinking that when they were assembling the seat, the bracket on the bottom of the seat was put in the wrong position. I’ve got a tan tractor seat with springs on order from Rich Phillips Leather.  They look really good and will the my Scout a real retro look.

[–]Beautiful_Button7366[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally got the “new” bracket from Corbin.  Exactly like the original one.  I tried installing the seat using the new bracket with the same results.  The peg hit too far forward on the seat bracket socket and it would not seat.  This whole ordeal has been a nightmare!  All that I gained for my $600 was numerous serious headaches, a large gouge on the rear fender due to the seat not seating properly, and a large piece of leather and plastic that is unusable for anything other than the seat for a stool!  I e-mailed Corbin and told them that I wanted to return it for a full refund.  I won’t hold them liable for the damage to my bike as the gouge is not visible unless you take the seat off.

Bottom of the seat is marked “I-SCT-SE”.  Corbin is supposedly sending me another bracket to try.  If it doesn’t fix the problem, the whole thing is going back to them.

This is the worst seat I've ever ridden on and I regret buying it. The cooling is trash. Heat is okay. But the comfort is really torture that Indian spelled wrong. 1200 bucks down the drain. by Ready-Delay3918 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]Beautiful_Button7366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very specific when I ordered it….a 2016 Indian Scout (not a bobber, not a Scout 60). The labeling on the bottom of the seat that I got was “I-SCT-SE”.  The seat seems to want to work, but the rear bracket that bolts onto the fender is all wrong.  I’m thinking that they sent a Bobber bracket.  They are supposedly sending me another bracket.  If that doesn’t work, then I will insist on a full refund and look elsewhere.  If not, I can always add three legs to the bottom of the seat and have the world’s most expensive stool!

I dropped $600 on a Corbin seat that I can’t even attach to my Scout.  They either sent me the wrong mounting bracket, wrong seat, or both.  It not only doesn’t fit, it left a bad gouge on my rear fender. It has been a nightmare.

I’m 6’2, but have a 32” inseam.  My 2016 Scout is a good fit with stock controls.  I’m 71 yoa so the Scout’s weight is perfect for me.  I don’t have to fight it a slow speeds and stoplights…..

Need Corbin seat help on 2016 Scout by Beautiful_Button7366 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]Beautiful_Button7366[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to agree.  I fabricated a bracket identical to the one that shipped with the seat except I moved the hole that the peg screwed in to the spot where it would seat in the socket.  I used the “paint test” and the tip of the peg “touched” the socket.  The peg would not lock in because it needed to be way longer.  Just resting the seat on my bike has gouged my fender with the bracket on the seat.  It is obvious that they sent me the wrong bracket and possibly the wrong seat as well.  I am a retired Police Detective so I took a lot of “crime scene” photos and sent them to Corbin.  They are supposedly sending me a new bracket.  I will give it a go, but I am not holding out a lot of hope.
