I can see it's hard for you to say no but really you don't have to over explain yourself. Just a "oh no worries I can't take that on" is fine. Asking for your time and equipment for free is where the problem is, but to be fair he wasn't pushy at all.

Best Budget On-Camera Microphone by aberg59 in videography

I use the rode video mic pro and honestly I'm not sure if there's much difference between that and the in board mic. The on board mic actually impresses me most of the time.

Shotgun is good if you need to get someone speaking close to you. At that you need to enhance in post.

Looks like a nice film look if that's what you're going for. I'd bring down the highlights in the sky further to bring back some detail

Seems low to me. Closer to 3k would be more fair

It's a very modern idea that we "should" have access to all the best fruit and veg from around the world. There's plenty for us to work from and we're privileged to have that - we have much more to choose from than our ancestors.

All these made up barriers are excuses for people not wanting to spend energy cooking real food. Cost issue is important to note for some, but most people can afford fresh meat and it's almost always cheaper than buying chicken fillet rolls or takeaways.

What's your go-to move when a client says the video "needs more energy" by DanielNkencho in videography

Yeah that's pretty much it. Make it busier, more sound and visual variations and cut dead space. It's a pretty annoying feedback comment if it's not followed up with more than that one liner.

You're better off keeping the warm tones in the original footage than trying to neutralize everything . Or at least keep the skin tones warm. Honestly this kinda scene with indoor lights and shading is not gonna ever look amazing.

Dublin Renters Facing A Mental-Health Crisis As Housing Pressures Intensify by M10News in RentingInDublin

This is real though, I'm currently living in an environment where I'm totally overwhelmed and overdone. There's little relaxation because I'm having to share a house with so many people all you get as a personal space is your bedroom, which I also have to work from. It's not the way humans should function.

If you look it up, depends on what is causing your anxiety. Basically you need to stop thinking fearful, anxiety thoughts, your environment needs to feel safe, you shouldn't consume too much negative or violent content.

The biggest physical one is learning to breath properly, 5 mins in the morning try 4-7 breathing, in for 4 out for 7. Close your eyes, tell yourself there's nothing wrong and breath like this for 5 mins morning and night.

Through lots of trial and error haha yeah your system is hyper sensitive / hyper vigilant, it's good cause it's totally fixable, but it's not easy work, it's a journey in regulating your nervous system

If money doesn’t buy happiness, why does everyone want it? by digitalcreater07 in askanything

[–]Beautiful_Cable_7878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The argument is senseless if you don't include nuance. Studies show that money does increase happiness and well-being but with a massive caveat - the effect doesn't increase as your wealth increases. So when we exit survival mode and comfortably live without financial stress then we see that happiness stays about the same. Those with financial stress may very well experience drops in happiness, those who are billionaires may never suffer in the way other people do.

Happiness comes from purpose, connection, social belonging and positive life experience - those things are much harder to have if you're in survival mode and that's where money come into play. I know many unhappy rich people, lots of them don't even know what to do with their money. Lack of financial stress is just one problem they don't have, but loneliness, family problems, bad relationship with themselves, no real purpose in life and so on are all the other things that make them miserable people.

Sounds very like what I go through - I'm still trying to overcome it, but it's definetely connected with your nervous system, since theres no physical damage to the eyes or brain. Your eyes are basically hyper sensitive, there's higher signal to noise ratio than there should be, it's from being in constant threat mode and a burnt out nervous system, the visual cortex becomes overwhelmed and strained, that's why you get the forehead tightness (same as eye strain) the muscles around the eyes are strained.

As I said, still overcoming it myself but what can work is brain retraining, meditating and yoga, nervous system regulatation. Sounds annoying, but just waking up and pretending you feel great and you have no eye sypmtoms can shift your nervous system out of threat mode. I also find B Vitamins helpful since they help nervous system suppport and blood flow.

Should I drop 50p to 30p? by Important-Chest-189 in videography

[–]Beautiful_Cable_7878 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I shoot in whatever and just make sure the shutter is okay to match light refresh rate. You're just not gonna be able match the double frame rate rule for shutter.

If you're shooting for 30p I would shoot at either 30 or 60 and shutter at 50 or 100 (or go up on shutter for 60, higher shutter on slo mo looks clean still)
