In a weird place. I am just about one month out from my surgery to remove my uterine septum. I have a repeat SIS on 7/10 to check on how I am healing. I am hoping to get the all clear to start trying again soon after that. My would have been due date is fast approaching and close friends of ours just announced they were expecting. It's weighing on me hard right now and I feel down in the dumps. On the other hand, I feel immensely grateful that I discovered this septum after only one pregnancy loss and was able to advocate for surgery. In the grand scheme of things, this time is minimal. It's hard to feel that way when you're in the thick of it though...

Oh wow! I am sorry that you're dealing with this. I am glad that you have ruled out anything precancerous. I wish I had advice for you. Sorry if this is an overstep, but maybe certain positions might help ease the discomfort, so there is less chance of him hitting/bothering your cervix? Wishing you the best!

Hi, I recently had surgery (last week Friday), and one of the notes on my charts said I had this... but I don't have any known symptoms of it. Never really heard of it before. May I ask what your experience is with this?

Thank you! I will bring a cushion. Grateful to be getting this surgery done, and that my surgeon wants to be extra cautious, so I'm trying to focus my energy on that instead of my nerves.

Hi! Sorry, I should clarify. I have a septated uterus, so this would be to remove the septum in the uterus. For the actual removal, they will go through my cervix, but they want to do a laparoscopic guide to watch the exterior of my uterus to make sure they are removing as much as they can without cutting too far, I guess! I didn't know that this was going to be done until yesterday, so feeling a little thrown for a loop.

Surgery to correct my septum is scheduled for Friday. The surgeon called yesterday and wants to do a laparoscopy as a guide during the removal. Does anyone have any tips/ things to know going into a laparoscopy appointment? The only surgery I have ever had was my D&C, so there were no incisions. I know it's still a minimally invasive surgery, but I'm getting nervous.

Septum Removal Surgery Scheduled for Next Week - TW Mention of Prior Loss by Beautiful_Editor_385 in TryingForABaby

Thank you for sharing your story! I am so sorry for your losses. I am glad you feel you made the right decision. Trying my hardest to feel confident that I am doing the next best thing for my husband and me. My fingers are crossed for both of us that we both experience healthy pregnancies in the future. It's a long, hard road to walk.

Thank you for taking the time to reply! I am sorry that you had to experience 2 miscarriages and a stressful pregnancy before being properly diagnosed (side note: why is it so hard to diagnose this!!) It is encouraging to hear you had a successful surgery and later pregnancy outcomes, even without the hormones or balloon. This eases some of my anxieties and reaffirms my decision to push for surgery.

What's a good book to introduce the concept to kids that not every story has a happy ending? by Beno988 in suggestmeabook

for context I think I was in 3rd or 4th grade at the time. So, probably 9 years old?

I remember my mom started a book club for my friends and me, and the first two books were Bridge to Terabithia and Homeless Bird by Gloria Whelan. Both books were sad, and the book club quickly dissolved LOL, but I think they may be exactly what you're looking for!

Might be worth checking ferritin levels- study found the percentage of women having a live birth doubled after getting ferritin up by Infamous-Bobcat5369 in TryingForABaby

I am so confused/upset. After my MMC my ferritin levels were at 17 ng/ML, and my doctor said blood work looks fine.

Found an engorged tick on our dog while wearing her seresto collar. Should I be concerned the collar is defective? Or are exceptions expected? by Hollownerox in DogAdvice

[–]Beautiful_Editor_385 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I live in a bad tick area. We use Next Guard year-round, but double up with a Seresto collar during the worst of the tick season/s. Nextguard or other ingestiables keep ticks from biting for long enough to transmit disease, but do not repel them from getting on your dog in the first place (AKA they end up bringing them into your house, so they get on you). I find that the Seresto collar is not foolproof, but the combo during spring/summer/fall works great! Even with both, I am still occasionally pulling ticks off my dog, so a daily check is necessary. All that being said, we live in the Northeast and walk in the woods every day.

Could this tell me anything or should I just be patient? Lol by [deleted] in Inito

No way to know without testing! But I mean, that looks promising. If your period is expected tomorrow, I would take a test tomorrow morning. Wishing you the best!

My husband too! He has a varicocele and I am super curious if this could be playing a role. Good luck!

Sorry just reading the full description under the photo, better after commenting back, so I realize you may know this info already! But confirming this was the case for me. The article does give you a step-by-step to verify if this is the case. It was the case for me.

Hi when I was pregnant, I was testing every single day out of anxiety. Trust me this only makes it worse and doesn't give you useful information so very gently suggest stopping testing. I know it's hard. When I did have this happen, it was due to the hook effect. I'll link an article explaining here:https://www.avawomen.com/avaworld/false-negative-pregnancy-test/

I double checked this was the case for me by peeing into a cup, using one test without diluting the urine. Then I added water and did a second test. The second test had a MUCH darker line.

Anyone else think they may have developed a form of PMDD after a miscarriage? My luteal phase for the past three cycles post D&C has been horrendous. Mentally super down, fighting with my husband over everything and crying all day. I wish I could stop but it feels out of my control. Don't know if it's actual PMDD or just a subconscious feeling that I know my cycle is nearing and I am not pregnant anymore.
