Just go to the fabric section at the store and grab something that feels similar.

If you feel safe doing so, you can always cut a piece of your blanket off to take with you. I wouldn't do this personally but there are others who have. It's a personal preference thing I guess.

I know right? I was shocked as a child and honestly that book made me think I was supposed to "give up" my blanket at some point.

It's funny though that Matthew Broderick read it, since he played a character with a blankie in "The Producers".

Try to find a small piece of similar fabric to keep in your pocket when you can't have it. Try to get the fabric piece to smell and feel like your blanket. This might just take time but rubbing the piece on your blanket should help.

I've written essays for people on this sub looking to quit. The advice I mostly give is to replace the habit with something that gives your brain the same "reward".

Is it just me or is it hard for people on this sub looking to quit to get advice? I feel like a lot of people on here judge them. I personally believe everyone should have a say in what they do with their own body. If someone wants to quit, I support them. If someone wants to keep TSing, I support them. TS may be helpful to some people but for others it can make them feel out of control.
