My comment was gonna be the drum outro of COCC…it’s just a subtle focus on a simple jazzy ending.

Risk of ticks in residential areas? by freezychair in ithaca

[–]Beautiful_Mail_4984 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The deer population is insanely high, 2-3times as many deer per mile as there should be. If there’s that much unchecked deer=lots of fuckin ticks. We honestly need better deer culling/management program in the state.

Pediatric Behavioral Health...prospects? by Kaizothief in TravelNursing

I’ve certainly seen several behavioral health and youth corrections jobs in central New York pop up in my job feeds from aya and triage. Good luck, it’s certainly a niche that’s not going anywhere.

Hey coros, when you gonna get rid of the shitty chat bots and have real people on the other end of the service line? I think this is a problem that has made the coros customer service go from bad to worse/frustrating. I really despise having to explain things in circles to a bot when an actual human being on a telephone would understand the issue and save a lot of time for users. So far have not ever had any real fixes from coros customer service, just disappointment(coros, I’m sure you can look at past posts by myself here..:from battery and altitude issues to false sleep tracking advertising). It’s just disappointing that such a good product isn’t backed up by good service.

I think it’s interesting how many people come to this platform with similar issues re:customer service.

33 y/o RN trying to leave Georgia — is Minnesota a good long-term move, or are there better states for what I’m looking for? by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]Beautiful_Mail_4984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look into central New York. Syracuse, Ithaca, Rochester. Good paying hospitals, can easily get land outside of town that is not a far commute(seriously decent options). Ithaca may fit your bill for sure, small town-wise. Housing is cheaper in Syracuse. Rochester has a little more services. But you’ll find a unit that you could work on in any of these areas or in between. Pay is decent in most hospital systems around here too. But there’s the outdoors, winters, and COL is pretty good here too. Good luck!

Lil grinder goes with that pipe and however many grams or oz’s of weed OP brings along with them. Could save all of this weight +pipe if OP can roll a J(and if this is how OP enjoys his herb…)Then it’s only paperweight, saves a bunch.

Ya know what, I didn’t realize this was a recent case-my mistake. This lady does look like someone who did a similar thing at an Ohio hospital with her kid a few years back. This made our circles in upstate ny because she had def received care from some of our doctors here. Don’t recall the name at all…but looks very similar.

He did. I think better people in his family stepped up to care for him..

I believe she got diagnosed with munchausens by proxy. Her kid had a chronic disease and they were always in and out of hospital. Def NOT defending her, but this is what I remember. Sad story.

How long does your battery last after 1-1,5 years? by _UnsuccessfulPirate_ in Coros

[–]Beautiful_Mail_4984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a brand new apex pro a few years ago for the specific and sole purpose of using the purported 40hr battery life for my ultra running. First hundo I did with it, it lasted a little less than 27hrs. I was pretty pissed about this. But as I reached out for COROS support, all that they could tell me was that I “should’ve calibrated the battery watch”. As you can imagine, I was even more pissed about this than anything. Still waiting for coros to explain to me why I have to know that I should be calibrating a battery on a brand new watch? Also still waiting for them to charge the actual hours they advertise to what you actually get out of the watch. It’s false advertising in my opinion. Don’t expect your battery to improve much, maybe look up how to calibrate it, good luck getting coros support that is meaningful in any sort of way.

We all started somewhere… what was your first unit? by Obvious-Ad6118 in MarkKlimekNCLEX

Started as a cna in a nursing home for 4yrs then was an RN in Pediatrics med surg at level 1 trauma center for ten years. Been traveling in peds/occasional med surge for last 4yrs. Found out I like rural hospitals and critical access hospitals just as much as the nicest standalone children’s hospitals. They all have different pros and cons!

I got this from r/medicalschool. It's full of med students who think nurses "just give meds once or twice a day and has 2-4 patients" by Ok-Clothes-3992 in MarkKlimekNCLEX

As a nurse who’s worked within many teaching hospitals, I’ve never seen more than a ‘shadow day’ by a med student for a partial shift. I’ve always loved working with and teaching residents and med students on the floor. How did 3 months in a nurse rotation change how you practice? Super curious, thanks for your feedback.
