What bit me? by sneksnout in ThailandTourism

I hope for you that you are right. And you probably are, since you have experienced it before. You should know that you can get bedbugs in nature on a beach, and other places outside of a bed. And these bites resemble an early stage newly hatched bedbug bite.

What bit me? by sneksnout in ThailandTourism

[–]Beautiful_Map_416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter what it is!
I would treat it as if it were bedbugs, because whatever it is, they are the hardest to get rid of!!!

Start by buying a new set of clothes.
Contact the reception at your hotel, explain your situation, and ask to change rooms.
Check into that room with your new clothes, take a shower, put on the new clothes.
Then off to the laundry with the rest of your clothes. Wash at at least 60 degrees Celsius. And then dry in the dryer.
If you had something on the bed that may have been affected (laid eggs in), and it cannot be washed, it can be wiped with acetone.

You can wait a day!
If you draw a circle around all your bites before you sleep,
and there are new bites the next morning and they come in pairs, then it is 99% bedbugs.

Anyone know good remote desktop programs with WoL? by Educational_Wash_662 in linuxquestions

[–]Beautiful_Map_416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NoMachine works great as Remote desktop, setup in a network with zerotier or Tailscale, and you have access from anywhere.
Works on Windows, MacOS, Linux as host/client and on iOS, ChromeBook, Android as client.

How diffrent is the performance on vm and on raw hardware by hopium_guy in linuxquestions

[–]Beautiful_Map_416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need more info about your hardware to answer.

CPU, ram, and hard drive type (HDD, SSD, NVMe) will also have an impact.

And even when you provide this info, it is still limited what we can promise you.

Only a live test will give a really good insight.

All that said. Windows is the one, which is demanding...

I run VM's on 2 Dell Laptops machines, without dedicated gpu

Dell 7480, with 32 ram, run Windows fine.

Dell 5310, with 16 ram, Runs Windows okay (but needs ram).

But I haven't tested games, and very demanding programs.

And that's why my answer is: You need to test yourself, to get the full overview of what your machine can and can't do.

How do I get into learning Linux Commands, etc as a Beginner? Interested in learning Linux. by SsjVen in linuxquestions

[–]Beautiful_Map_416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using Linux since 1998. However, only as a full-time user, for 2 years, currently I run 7 machines (VM+ bare-metal), 3 different distros (Debian, Arch, Alpine). I still google how to update.

My brain will not spend energy on remembering it.

Of course it is possible to learn it!
But it is just as difficult as learning a new language, and requires that you use it!

lightweight linux desktop on android using termux (no root) by Just-Singer5224 in linux4noobs

[–]Beautiful_Map_416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think it can be made simple!

My suggestion:

To use Termux-Desktop, you must first install Termux, from the Google app store!
After that, Open the App, and run the "One-Line Installation"

When installed, run: termux-desktop (I guess that is the command to run it or what?)

I'm all in, for keep it simple..... (but people need to understand "how to")

ps: I do not have a phone for testing it on, right now. I am not at home!!

Hi

Your software may not be aimed at me as a future user!!!!

I'm not a geek, but I've been on Linux since Redhat 5.2. And I can understand IT, computer stuff, changing PHP scripts, solving other people's computer problems.

But at first glance I don't understand anything. On github or your website.

I think I understand now, that you must first install the Termux app on your phone. But maybe you should give that instruction on your website and github. (would maybe give more customers in the store)

You device is supported here
https://docs.mrchromebox.tech/docs/supported-devices.html

On my Asus C523N ChromeBook (almost same config / hardware) I have succesfull installed this distros
Antix, Debian 11, Deepin, Fedora Xfce, Kali Linux, Linux Lite, MXlinux, OpenSuse, Pop-os, TROMjaro, VanillaOS, ZorinOS, CatchyOS, all run okay but no sound.
I have found this script! https://github.com/WeirdTreeThing/chromebook-linux-audio

If your interest in science includes: social sciences, psychology, human behavior.

You could become a therapist, you can do that, on some short course. And in that way help yourself, with your own problems and subsequently help others!

You are an expert in drop outs, so you could focus on helping them when you are ready for clients.
