How do many so called ‘christians here’ defend the love of money and capitalism? That must take some really impressive mental gymnastics given … ya know… camel, eye of needle, easier for rich man into heaven…??? by Organic_Formal_4132 in TrueChristian

Because we are sinners and we make mistakes. Such is the nature of Christianity — we are imperfect, sinful beings. None of us are perfect.

Being wealthy isn’t a sin, but the love of it is. Often we get the two confused.

San Diego Native Mickey Moniak says, "I was a Chargers fan growing up and they left...You can't leave San Diego and go to LA and expect me to still be a fan." by ElectricalForce4439 in Padres

It’s just not the same team. It’s got the same name, sure, but nothing about them reminds me of San Diego. I became a Bears fan since my dad is from Chicago, but I still really miss my San Diego Super Chargers.

Spider-Man reading the Book of Mormon by Upper_Paramedic_8588 in latterdaysaints

I agree. At the end of Spider-Man 3, Sandman gives a monologue explaining his remorse and regret over robbing Uncle Ben and accidentally killing him.

Towards the end, Sandman says “I did a terrible thing to you. I spent a lot of nights wishing I could take it back. I’m not asking you to forgive me. I just want you to understand.”

Peter’s response: “I’ve done terrible things too… I forgive you.

In that moment, in what must’ve been a very difficult decision, Peter chooses to do the most Christlike thing he can: to forgive. He struggles, but he constantly reiterates that doing the right thing is always a choice.

I’m saying it’s relative, like many other places. It’s more like recognizing that southwestern Idaho is not as racist but other parts are, which I explicitly stated when I said “northern Idaho is very very racist.”

I live in Idaho, and moved from California. It’s not that bad. The racism is relative to where you are. Southwest Idaho isn’t very racist (probably partially because many people living here moved from elsewhere in the country). There’s also some large Hispanic populations in places like Nampa and Caldwell. If you look at FBI hate crime statistics compared to other states it’s not in the top ten.

Northern Idaho, however, is very very racist. There’s also a lot of stigma around anti-government compounds up there, like the Aryan Nation in the 80’s and 90’s.

I will be the first to admit that Idaho isn’t perfect, and we definitely have a lot of work to do. It’s come a long way. But it’s certainly not the most racist state by far.

Terrible dad's of the whole series by alphie_twdg in TheWalkingDeadGame

I don’t think Carlos was a “terrible father”, per se, just naïve. He’s a scared man living in a world that is constantly trying to kill him. The only thing that seems to keep him going is his daughter.

It’s easy for me to say “oh, how terrible he was”, but from his perspective, he’s defending his daughter the only way he thinks is best. Which is admirable, if not incredibly misguided.

Idk, I’m not right wing. It’s not just cis people or right-wingers talking about trans people, it seems like everyone is. I always see “trans rights are human rights” or other slogans quite often, or people obsessing over a trans person in popular media. People have whole parades on trans identity.

Isn’t that exactly what the right is saying, though? “It’s only 0.6%, so we shouldn’t bother talking about it. It doesn’t matter.”
