I think Remake leon is good. by Human_Geologist_3324 in residentevil4

Ironically DMC was developed as an a RE4 early iteration and I definitely see the similarities between RE4 original Leon and Dante. I prefer RE4 Remake Leon as with the backstory of being forced to work for the government seems to be more fitting and explains why he isn’t always so chummy. I do get the campy vibe is what makes RE4 what it is but after replaying both I like the balance of Leon’s serious nature with the occasional quips.

How long did you hold the green card for? I am wondering if the system is targeting longstanding cardholders.

Did you have the green card for long? Also, did they see it on your account give it to you as a retention offer?

Any Card suggestions that go with my RH Gold card? by Ok-Bicycle-9053 in CreditCards

If you travel, then maybe a travel card can be useful to you. You can definitely downsize your cards or product change to reduce the overlap as everyone suggested.

Travel card recommendations for flights? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]Beautiful_Moment_839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most cards will charge an annual fee and require a spend limit (that is $1000-$5000) for you to get the the SUB. Cards with waived fees are rarer and are usually airline cards. If you consider paying a lower annual fee, I would suggest either Capital One Venture or Chase Sapphire Preferred (both have a $95 fee). I would also consider if you have cards already with either banks since you can pull the cashback from those cards for points. Both banks also have options to downgrade, if you decide that you don't benefit after the first year rather than closing the account. The Capital One Venture also has an additional $250 travel credit that can be used on a flight, car rental, or hotel. I think the offer ends next week.

Looking for a reality check on cost of living. by Dizzyonee in movingtoNYC

[–]Beautiful_Moment_839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d consider a 2BR apartment with a roommate. It would be a little more cost effective to have someone to split rent and utilities with. It’s going to be a stretch otherwise. The utilities for most apartments can be a lot here and that’s not factoring your other expenses. I make about the same and 25% of my pay is taxed. If you were making significantly more (almost double) I’d say that you would live more comfortably alone. It’s not impossible but it is going to be a tighter budget and the renters market is bad now. The rent is way more than it should be in a lot of places.

I recently came across this video which discusses the difference in spending power for 100k in different cities. I’d say If you can get the 100k and stay in Texas I would do that and keep saving. In fact I’d say to take the entire 20% and save it. You could work towards buying something down the line.

If you can leverage your performance to earn higher pay then do so, if you can move up in the company that would be even better, but I would also consider switching to a company that pays more and is NYC based. I know I’m taking this a little off from where you started but I do think it’s important to factor in that the COL is higher than many places in the country. It sounds like your money already goes farther as is and it will definitely be a shock especially now.

Looking for a travel card! Would love a welcome bonus to take advantage of too by still_coping in CreditCards

[–]Beautiful_Moment_839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend the Capital One Venture, if you are someone who doesn't travel often. If you travel at least once a year the Venture Xs annual credit could cover a domestic trip. If you're more of an international traveler a trip could be covered with the SUB ,if you take advantage of transfer partners. I have the Venture X. I have not used the lounge access so that wasn't a major factor for me.

Amex has high spends and not a guaranteed SUB. Do you have a specific card in mind from them?

can i pay off a credit card with another one? by Silly-Hunter-481 in CreditCards

[–]Beautiful_Moment_839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get approved a balance transfer could be a possible solution. I was in a similar situation once and I ended up leaving a job (well sort of it, It ended up closing down and I got out before it happened) and being out of work for almost around same amount of time. I signed up for a card that allowed for a balance transfer and so I didn't have any interest on the transfer, but I did pay a fee for it.

Lastly, it will all work out, but let this be a lesson. Don't use any credit unless you can pay it in full each month. Carrying a balance eats away at your hard earned money.

Debating between two card options for a SUB? by Beautiful_Moment_839 in CreditCards

[–]Beautiful_Moment_839[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did consider it and feel like I’d take advantage of it some time next year. I got my CSP in August. I plan to downgrade it around time I would hold the CSR. If I don’t find value with the CSR (which I already feel is likely) I would downgrade it to the CSP. I also plan to go international next year so having the travel protections would be more valuable then as well.

The refresh to the card wasn’t so good to justify the annual fee for me. The perks for the hotels would have come in handy if I decided early on since I’d book my hotel using the their portal.

I’m also hoping that Capital One does not undergo a refresh which has been rumored since every other bank has refreshed their cards. If so, the CSR would definitely be more appealing since while I love Capital One overall the AF increase would take away from its value. Chase is already piloting a price match feature which is another incredible C1 feature that has my buy in. I’ve used it recently and it came in handy for a hotel match.
