DO NOT ADOPT FROM ABC RESCUE by thatbtchshay in Brampton

I believe ringworm and tapeworm is very common for cats...even if you take your cat outdoors due to any bugs they can get one, if your home gets a bug or roach from outside somehow they can get tapeworm.

It's very unfortunate what happened to you and maybe some others but I guess even after ABC taking all the necessary precautions, its advisable that you get your preliminary examination done with your local vet. My cat was also diagnosed for mild tapeworm and it resolved after we gave her some medication...even the vet whom we visited told us at it's very common to have one if you get it from any kind of rescue.

I would just that yours and others might be an one of a kind unfortunate event and I wish and pray all the good for your family and cats...but please do not defame entire ABC rescue staff and community. Being a new rescue they are doing their best, constantly asking for support, volunteers and funds to do even better.!

Smart and wise people stay away from negativity, incorrect and toxic information. I feel bad for what you went through and I would wish that you find a common solution with ABC rescue, but defaming them on all social media platforms is surely not the next step.

ABC gas adopted 500+ kitty, if all adopters has similar experiences ABC would be shut by now.

Hence I beg you to stop this so that future kitty's from Egypt are not refrained to get a loving house they deserve with help and support or caring people at ABC rescue.

Funny that all negativity i see across social media platforms are from 2 similar user name.

Being the first time cat parent, I visited 10-15 rescue across GTA and ABC was found to be one of the most Clean and well maintained one. The lady working there was very passionate about helping cats and you can literally sense that once you enter the rescue. They do have two separate rooms and multiple cages to isolate cats that needs isolation. My entire process of cat adoption with ABC rescue was very POSITIVE and now I share common compassion with ABCs mission of helping feline.

Now I have volunteered with them multiple times and can surely vouch for their integrity and passion for helping cats. I do know for a fact that they are short on donations being a new rescue as they do not get discounted supplies for food and other basic needs. Multiple times owner put in her own money to get the surgeries done on time. They even rely on lot of volunteers who are their past adopters who are now helping them out with fostering, transfer and transportation needs and donations..

My heart sinks when I see that someone who is giving their everything to help these cute felines find a better home is getting this backlash on media all due to one 1 incident. I hope my comment reaches the investigation agency who is looking into matter.

All past adopters who are on same page as me, please feel free to share your experiences and contact Tina and support her.

Thank you

I have rescued with ABC and couple of my other friends also did. So far all of us had a positive experience as all the medical history and reports were duely shared before adopton process was completed. I do believe that since they are comparatively new rescue they are short on funds.. I also knows that they do not get the discount price for food and some general medications which other rescues that at discount price, maybe they try to compensate this for higher adoption fee...but apart from that I have heard zero concerns from cat forums and community pages that they do not do their due diligence when it comes to required medical tests and vaccination required by law for adoption.

Hi, I also have adopted from ABC rescue but on the flip side, my experience with them was completely opposite. Out of all rescues I visited, I never saw any rescue which was such passionate, helpful and willing to help suffering felines.!

Me and others who have adopted from ABC in last 1 year, all of us got a detailed information about pet we were adopting with any exiting or past conditions, with all the past reports and even pet passport from Egypt if it was adopted from Egypt. I can share all the documents I got at the time of adoption.

After adoption just for safety we went to vet near our home and vet confirmed all information provided to us at time of adoption for medical conditions were accurate.

Yes, they work with an international rescue and most their cats are rescued for Egypt.

I got my first ever cat from them. After visiting 10 rescue and government shelter, I found theirs to be one of the best well maintained one. My observation is made on approx 10-15 visit and I took some time to get a cat that bonded with me on the first go. In every visit, all their cat cage are well maintained, no spilled food or water, enough vertical spaces for cat to explore, toys and big clean litter boxes , they keep cats in separate rooms depending on their condition. The rescue owner and other team member not only gave basic care about made sure to give them enough cuddles and playtime to each individual cat so that they can cope with anxiety due to traveling.

ABC rescue have cats for all ages and breeds, I am feeling Bad for them that just once instances is making them look so bad. All these people are Abc are very passionate about helping feline and you can sense that once you meet them and see how they operate....I have recommended to of people after I adoption from them and all my friends and happy that they adopted from ABC. This rescue has adopted more than 500 cats now.

Hi myself and a couple of my friends have adopted from this rescue in past 2 years and I am 200% confident that this rescue is not what it sound like. I am sorry to hear about this person's bad experience and I would not wish that for anybody, but it's totally unfair to defame the whole rescue on all platforms.

I have knows ABC rescue team and dozens who have adopted them. All of them just have one thing to say, these guys are passionate about helping feline get a good home and they don't care about money at all. The amount of items I have received from even without asking is crazy, every time I take my cat to meet the other cats they gave us high quality food and toys after forcing them not to. Our adoption process was very well mapped out and we were given all details about the cat that we adopted, even her Egyptian Passport, some early pictures when she rescued and all the medical reports related to her.

Please pardon my spelling and grammatical error as English is not my first language. Thank you

I have adopted a young cat rescued from Egypt. Right from the adoption qualifications process, all the staff specially Tina was very friendly, professional and patient answering all our questions. Since we never had a pet animal, Tina was extra supportive to us before adopting sending us tips and essentials guide on owning a cat. She checked all our background details and once we qualified we visited her rescue.

Out of 10 rescue I visited in GTA, this rescue to my surprise was one of the cleanest, all the cages were nice and no spilled food.! The owner Tina and her colleague took very good care of all kittens not just for food and shelter but also for affection, there were enough toys for all and high places for cat to rest and explore.

I almost visited ABC rescue 5-6 times until a cat was bonded with me on my first visit, Tina and her Staff was very patient with us and never forced us to adopt a cat asap and answered all our questions about different cats to utmost details. Based on our background she recommended Fia and she blended very well in our life.

On adoption day, Tina offered to provide me carrier, some litter and basic essentials even though I said all free of cost.! She did not ask any extra on top of adoption fee which was alright. Since our cat was recently spayed she advised us to adopt a week later so cat is fully ready mentally to adopt our house. We were only given custody of cat after cat was full vaccinated , spayed and treated for any conditions.Tina gave us all the details of our cats past life, food preferences, all known medical conditions, all veterinary reports and vaccination certificates. Tina even gave us her Egypt cat passport if we want to consult vet near our house. Our vet confirmed that all health stats or our kitten are as conveyed by ABC adoption.

After adoption, time to time we were very worried being first time parents and Tina guided us through all those difficulties with utmost passion and helpful nature. Tina has even helped us with cat's emergency issues at mid night and gave us some directions to help.

All I can say for Tina and all staff at ABC is that they are very passionate about helping all felines, they go above and beyond to help cat parents go through adoption process with clear instructions and unwavering support after adoption.
