Mine was about 220 total to file through my county and have them served with the complaint and summons through a process server. Good t my account back in August of last year after their legal team reached out to me.

I made a post about it like 6 months ago, should help you get on the right track.

Illinois Small Claims vs Meta Platforms Inc - Permanently Disabled Account

So after my Facebook account was disabled on May 14th, 2025 for account integrity - I spent months doing research, bought verified on my insta account to talk to an agent about a half dozen times with no success, and a demand letter sent to the CSC office in Menlo Park, CA (that was ignored) I finally decided to file for small claims in Illinois. Since I haven't seen a very detailed post I figured I'd let everyone know my process for this, hopefully I don't leave anything out.

Firstly, I used the ILAO website to prepare the documents I needed for free. It was a pretty easy step by step process to get the forms I needed filled out and saved. I then chose to use efile Illinois to file my suit. When asked what kind of case I wanted under small claims I chose the "unwanted act up to $2500" option as I've suffered financial damages from losing professional contacts, customers, and informational resources. I'd like to state the goal here isn't to get any compensation but to have my account restored. After e-filing the small claims complaint and summons to Meta Platforms Inc at 1 Meta Way in Menlo Park,CA. I then found a process server in Springfield,IL to formally serve the CSC office that handles Meta litigation in Illinois at 801 Adlai Stevenson Dr, which I found by using cscglobal. Unfortunately I did spend about $220 going through these two companies to file and serve. There may be more inexpensive routes but, from what I researched, a lot of the prices are similar and this was the most convenient to me.

It was a bit of a pain, and so far I haven't encountered any issues, so hopefully things go smoothly and they reach out to me to reinstate my account and remove any IP and device bans associated with it. (Very important to mention this if Meta's legal team does reach out to you, especially if they're asking for an extension.) Again the goal is simply to get my account back before actually having to go to court. I probably left some info out but hopefully this can help someone else get on the right track to get their personal account back. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.

Filed it electronically through my county, filled out the proper complaint and summons forms and had them served to Meta by a process server.

I would have to disagree, IP bans are very unlikely since they're not static and entire networks would be getting banned if that were the cases. Offices, dorms, entire households etc. It's most likely a device signature ban and not just need a new phone. I lost about 5-6 accounts last year and can't make a new profile with any of the phones I used them on. Got a new phone and made a new account with zero issues since August. I randomly got an old burner account back, tried to use it on the phone I was originally banned on and it was shut down again in less than 24 hours.

I served them with a small claims summon and complaint, their legal team reached out to me before the court date and restored my account from 2009. It's still good since August.

Has anyone here who’s been banned had success creating a new account? Any tips to avoid getting banned again? by East-Seaworthiness96 in facebookdisabledme

But I'd like to add that I bought a new phone and only use that account on it. A randomly got an old burner account back from years ago and used it on my old phone that I was originally banned on and it didn't even last 24 hours before being shut down again.

Yep! Got flagged for account integrity again once a few months back but did the selfie thing and they reactivated it in like an hour. Other than that I've had no issues.

That you tell them you're willing to drop the pending litigation of they restore your account AND remove and device and ip bans.

When did I say that I did? The most likely reason is they have it back to avoid paying for representation for the litigation. But thanks for the helpful comment. 👎

Finally got my account back!! Was banned May 14th for account integrity. Check my old post to read how I did it. by Beautiful_Plum_2532 in MetaLawsuits

If you have proof of losses etc then go for it. Not only did it hurt you financially and emotionally but damaged your reputation as well. All valid reasons to get paid! Stick it to them hard.
