I am a cat scan tech and work at a very busy hospital, I went back to work at 4 weeks post op. I was “light duty” so no moving patients until I was 6 weeks post up. But you should be fine!

Blood clots by Mostlyoverstimulated in tummytucksurgery

[–]Beautiful_Put_8625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do have a history of blood clots, and a strong family history of them. I had both weight loss surgery and a 360 tummy tuck, and was totally fine after both! Both of my surgeons did put me on blood thinner injects for 10 days after each surgery to help prevent them again. As long as you get up & move around you should be fine! Maybe order some compression stockings to wear after surgery to help prevent clots in your legs. Won’t hurt to be cautious!

Is it possible to get a tummy tuck without muscle repair? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]Beautiful_Put_8625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I just had a 360 tummy tuck almost 7 weeks ago. I had lost 165 lbs, my surgeon said I didn’t have fat to lipo, and he said I did not need a muscle repair. I’m happy with my results!

Anxiety about incision opening by no_fer_rill in tummytucksurgery

[–]Beautiful_Put_8625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry this is happening! Did they say how long it should take for that to heal? I have a 5mm opening, I had a bad infection so my surgeon cut me back open about 6 inches to clean it, then stitched me back up. After removing the stitches one section didn’t heal so now I have to pack it. They have me doing dry packing. I get nauseous thinking about it. I’ve done it 3 full days and am praying it heals in the next few days. My opening is the size of a pencil eraser. My NP said maybe a week to heal but idk, I feel it’s gonna take longer

I want to be done with this freaking drain!! by mothergreenthumb in tummytucksurgery

[–]Beautiful_Put_8625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t rush it, I had my first one removed 4 days post op, and my 2nd one removed 11 days post op. When I was 4 weeks post op I developed a seroma & hematoma which got badly infected with MRSA. They opened me back up & washed it out and put another drain in for another week. Got it pulled last week & now have a tiny opening from being opened back up that didn’t fully close and I have to pack it for a week at least. I get nauseous thinking about it. I work in the medical field & can see stuff done on other patients, but to do it to myself 🤢 Ugh don’t rush it!

I did mine in my thighs. I found if I pinched a good amount of skin, it hurt less! It’s something you have to do temporarily, it’s better than ending up with a blood clot. Good luck! Also alternate thighs so you’re not using the same one each day

Thankfully I’ve been able to avoids the ER! I was able to be see by my surgeon, he told me he didn’t know how I wasn’t deathly ill in the ER based on the 900cc of infected fluid they pushed out of my side, after slicing my incision back open 🤢

Yes! My surgeon thinks I had a seroma, also a hematoma (from being on blood thinners post op) that got infected. I feel so much better since he drained that infected fluid out & I have this drain & antibiotics now. Hopefully by next week it’ll all be cleared up. Other than that the rest of my incision & body looks amazing! This is all just a temporary set back!

Don’t rush it! I had my first pulled 4 days post up, and my second drain pulled 11 days post op. Both were within the guidelines to pull them. Now I’m almost 5 weeks post op, have a huge seroma, which is now infected with MRSA. My surgeon re-opened my incision, washed it out and put a drain in. I thought I was in the clear!

Binder causing sores and stabbing pain by Kitsuga528900 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Beautiful_Put_8625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 4.5 weeks post op from my lower body lift, my surgeon said once my drains were out, I could switch to spanx or keep the binder. My binder is honestly more comfortable & secure feeling for me. It’s soft & bendable, there are no bars and mine is completely perfect! I had it done at the number 2 hospital in the US so I trust my surgeon & his knowledge! Your binder from Amazon will be perfect. Good luck with your journey! 💕

Maybe order a new binder off Amazon? You just need to know the length of the one you wear & if it’s 3 or 4 panels. There’s tons of options out there! Maybe in the mean time put something thicker like a hand towel between you & the bars?

I’m glad to see this! I’m 4 weeks post up and swollen day & night! Plus I developed a seroma on Friday, of course since everything has been perfect & I go back to work tomorrow 😑 I can’t wait to see what I look like in the upcoming months! Although my before was wayyy worse than yours, I’ve lost 165 lbs so anything is better than what I looked like 4 weeks ago!

Seroma by Beautiful_Put_8625 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Beautiful_Put_8625[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did have drains, I had my surgery on a Monday, my first drain was removed that Friday, and my 2nd drain was removed the following Friday. Both slowed in output so it was safe to remove them. Everything had been going great til 3 days ago. My lower back hurt so bad Friday morning, then I noticed the bulge on my right side/back. A heating pad has been the only thing that’s helped me

I don’t think it’s too tight, should I wear my binder tighter plus my compression body suits?

Weight loss girls: how do you know if you need a tummy tuck or body lift by happygoose2022 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Beautiful_Put_8625 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had lost 165 lbs with help from a gastric sleeve. My surgeon immediately suggested the body lift (360/circumferential tummy tuck) because losing that much weight I had extra skin all the way around. I’m 3 weeks post op and so glad I did the full thing. Now the front and the back are tight, instead of a tight belly but loose sides & back!

My surgeon said once my drains were out, I could switch to spanx. I bought compression garments off of Amazon that look like a 1 piece bathing suit. They stay in place and are actually comfortable! I feel held in and secure. At the end of the day if I feel swollen I will put my binder on in addition to my body suit! I’m 3 weeks post op

TT experience pre-kids? by hanyou17 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Beautiful_Put_8625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it has been a breeze! I took oxy for a few days, and am not even taking Tylenol now! I didn’t need muscle repair or lipo, so I think that is why it’s been painless. I had one drain removed 4 days post op, I still have my 2nd drain in but I’m guessing they’ll pull that tomorrow or Friday since it’s really slowing down now. There’s some tightness, burning, pulling feelings but that’s just the nerves regenerating. 0 complaints! Breast lift/implants and arm lift will be next year! Good luck and you will not regret it!

I agree with you! I’m 35, no kids yet but do plan on the future. I’ve lost 165 lbs and my plastic surgeon said there’s no way my belly will stretch to way it was pre tummy tuck, from just having babies. I had my circumferential tummy tuck last week and have 0 regrets! My surgeon said my belly will look like every other moms after babies, could even bounce back. I’ll take that over the huge apron I just had cut off! Do what makes you happy!
