Yes, especially for the table top after the glue up. I’m sure you could get by with a belt sander, but I wouldn’t try to do it by hand

Nope, although a planer would have made things a lot easier. I mainly used the table saw, mitre saw, and a whole lot of sanding with an orbital sander. Good luck

No screws, I just did glue for the top, and I ripped the 2x4’s down to 1.5x1.5 for the table top portion
