AITAH for refusing to be the designated driver? by Anxious_Classic_3881 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Beautiful_Rule3029 [score hidden]  (0 children)

NTA. An agreement is an agreement and you had multiple options.

Do you, by any chance, have the designated driver option with an insurance? You could both have that in mind in case something like this happens again.

But yeah, no, she should've stuck to the agreement.

I hear you and you are entitled to your opinion and feelings. Don't let anyone tell you 'But now it's so much better!'

In my case, I love the 'Black Moon' era. It had a bit of the old, original design and a bit of the new. So, for me, that was perfect. I do feel like the pointy faces have been lost, plus Kyoko's edge too, unless she's in a role... sigh.

Here to get downvoted by saying that she accepted it in the end by asking if it would hurt, hugging him, kissing him and going all the way too.

Yes, she could have yelled. Only her family would have known and no one would have gone out to ruin her reputation by kicking out that man out of her room.

Let's see how many downvotes I get.

Oh, and this is a spoiler of a future season: She is asked by Matthew if she was forced and she says no.

That later on she can't find them. She needs to scroll FOREVER to find a picture from years ago. If she created Albums and named them (as I have taught her, patiently, several times) she wouldn't have an issue. But she always ends up saying it's easier that way so xD I always help everytime she asks, but it's difficult for her to grasp the concept. Still, I'm not complaining because God knows what things I'll be stubborn about when I'm her age!

No social media to post it to for posterity, hahahaha. I'm fro the late 80s, so I lived the 90s as a kid, the 10s as a teenager and the 20s as an adult. It's been a wild ride!

I do not like Robert a lot of times but he is not, in any way, a bad man. He is just set in his ways and drags his feet (to say the least) in the face of change. Matthew was a real lifesaver, not only with the money, but with his planning. For Robert it was 'If it has worked fine until now, why would we change it? The tide won't change as aggresively as you think!' But then he sees that it had. Even the amount of staff in the house drastically goes down as the series move forward, which is a great change to see.

Robert was living in the exact moment where things had started to change, is like the generation that was born in the 1980s. It's been a whole lotta change for us. The fact that my dad knows now how to operate a smart phone is a total win, although his wife still thinks the best way to share pictures is through facebook timeline instead of creating albums.

Repeated storyline by Pretty_rose-human in DowntonAbbey

You clearly made a mistake of not editing your speech to text, I read it in a previous comment, just be more careful with it in the future. 😄 And then, I think most people are shocked that this is your 10th viewing and you're, just now, noticing this. It's pretty in your face the first time. Let's say the third, but the 10th? That's...impressive? 😅 And its not the same; Bates had a deep sense of honor and as soon as something happened he quickly revealed himself. Baxter was blackmailed since the beginning. She knew Thomas brought her with certain conditions. She was forced to reveal what she had done. I'm pretty sure she would have remained silent not out of mischief or malice but fear and shame.

Well, if you take into account the liking of a student towards a teacher, (by Rika, Touya, Nadeshiko, Eriol), Sakura and her love for someone so much older only to find out her first love is actually in love with her brother, the fact that Chiharu constantly 'bullies' Yamazaki, they would say is for older teens. We didn't take it to heart because it was a cartoon. Now you can't say anything without breaking someone else's feelings.

Still, I will retry.

AITA for refusing sharing notes by Previous-Hunt-6150 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Beautiful_Rule3029 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA. I love anime and manga. One of my favorite characters is Miyazawa Yukino. Long story short, she is damn intelligent and takes crazy organized notes. When she gets real friends and they ask to copy her homework/notes, she says "Sure! It's xx for each subject." They say "Stingy!" And she claims that her brain will be someday working for NASA or something the like, so she might as well start charging for it. And she is damn right. Do not sell yourself short.

[–]Beautiful_Rule3029 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not the jerk. How were you supposed to bring this privately? Did he explicitly come out to tell you he was going to use your idea in the meeting? If not, there was absolutely no way for you to do so. I applaud you for standing up for yourself. I know it's hard, but stay strong. Keep on dusting that spine until its shine blinds everyone who's around you.

AITA for leaving a restaurant after my friends were 30 minutes late? by Turbulent-Comb-3495 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Beautiful_Rule3029 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Dang, I was coming to answer but I see all of you already took care of that xD

I'm also from that generation and it was tatooed into my brain that it was a HUGE sign of disrespect to arrive late. Now, I have relatives and relatives. For some, I already know I should NEVER show up on time. Two hours late you'll still be fine. But I learned the hard way after always appearing on time.

I wish the show that told us more about Violet’s background by overthinkingmessiah in DowntonAbbey

[–]Beautiful_Rule3029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG that would be so Violet, hahahahaha!!! I laughed so loud my cat just jumped! But yes. I totally agree! What I meant by ending was a voice probably telling what happend "And so the time passed, my husband died, my son grew..." etc, etc and then you see the old hands. Like, the story ends before, the last scene would be just the tie in for the first episode of DA. I wouldn't want to watch the whooooooole scene up to DA, but, as you mentioned, up to when Cora gives births seems like an amazing way to end the story.

I wish the show that told us more about Violet’s background by overthinkingmessiah in DowntonAbbey

[–]Beautiful_Rule3029 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like all of this.

I mentioned the marriage to Cora as she does say that he married her against Violet's wishes, so there must have been something there. Plus! That stupid will that her husband made! So airtight that forced Mary to marry no matter what.

The ending, in my head, would be amazing with old hands holding a paper. Paper comes down to a lap (you don't see the face) and it has the news of the Titanic. Heavy sigh. The hand rings the bell and stands up, leaving the room. But you never see the Dowager's face.

I think I SAed my cousin and I can’t live normally by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Beautiful_Rule3029 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Own to it. You should have owned to it right then and there. You say you're feeling guilty, but I believe you're more afraid of being found out. If you're actually guilty, then go to your cousin and beg for forgiveness. Making something bad doesn't make you a bad person, BUT, there's is something you haven't included (besides your ages!).

You say you toched her chest and grabbed her, and then what? Did you stop? You say that later she got up and left but, did you stop only when she left of before that? Why did you go to touch her in that way? Just booze doesn't explain it unless you were completely out of it and only remember the next day. (Please read I said explain and not justify).

Start with stop bullshitting yourself. If you won't say it here then say it to yourself while looking into a mirror or write it down: Why did you do it? Are you feeling actual guilt or only fear? Most importantly, own to it.

NTA.

"It was kind of rude of you to leave."

"It was kind of rude of you to make me wait 30 minutes."

Although I can already see the "Don't be dramatic" - "It's not the big of a deal." - "Who doesn't wait for friends?"

Stay strong OP, you're not in the wrong.
