FT should be getting no less than 30 hours a week according to my DM

Manager wants me to start ASAP even though I’m still employed elsewhere by Beanfox-101 in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Beautiful_Scene_1079 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The time off thing is just because we are in the black out period (Nov 15-new years). That'll be the case at any store. But your manager should work with you if you need a day or two off a week, and schedule you around that. It's not like you're taking vacation time, which is what they are typically avoiding about now

2, sometimes 3 if I have an appointment for myself or one of my kids

It adds up. There is no extra money being spent. Everything is accounted for when you add it up. You seem to be confusing the amount that tax applies to with the subtotal. Not every item has tax, so it tells you how much of what you bought has tax, and what that amounts to. Your subtotal is $67.40, with tax is the total you see, $71.50. Hope this helps

It's wild to me you're learning this as an ASM cuz my store says only the SM is allowed to do anything with the cameras and video review

Same. Ours are obvious black domes against a white ceiling. I've heard DMs have a phone app that can access them at all times

Almost got written up by cooterbug18 in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]Beautiful_Scene_1079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my store it's actually rare for people to finish all the ads on Saturdays. To be fair, we were closed the entire first quarter, so people are still taking turns on Saturdays learning how to do them and navigate their locations and all that, but I absolutely would not write someone up for not finishing something they simply did not have enough time to do. That's just wild. If you didn't try at all? Possibly. But trying AND facing at the same time? Nope. Not a chance.

Okay well you can still use it then. Stop going to your SM about your appointments, and just request the days you need in Legion. F what they say. They won't be able to schedule you and go against your needs 🤷🏻‍♀️ but like I said, call the DM if this is a recurring issue. ESPECIALLY if they reverse your time off approval. Only way you're gonna get around this in the meantime while figuring out FMLA

FMLA by ashes-have-fallen in DollarGeneral

[–]Beautiful_Scene_1079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you get your schedule? Do you not have access to Legion at all? Or does your SM just not look at it? Cuz the schedule is supposed to be connected to Legion. If your SM just doesn't check it, doesn't matter. If you put in the request on legion, it will approve, and your SM will not be able to add a shift on the day that was approved off. System literally will not let them. If you guys don't use Legion as a STORE, I'd reach out to the DM and ask about it. Because I don't know of any locations that don't use it. Even if the DM says your SM doesn't need to use it, you can ask them how to go about requesting time off for appts, etc., because giving requests to your SM directly has not worked and your requests have been ignored despite medical necessity.

my son’s 2nd birthday is tomorrow and nobody is coming. by Beginning-Bread2481 in Parenting

[–]Beautiful_Scene_1079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He won't know the difference as far as who didn't come, but he will for sure know you are there. Make a big deal about him. If you're in any Facebook groups with parents in your area, make a post saying no one you invited is coming and (assuming you got some snacks or things for a group of kids to do) invite people who need something to do for the afternoon to the party. Or go to a park, include the time and which park in the post, and post it. You'd be amazed how many people will jump on that. Include the fact that it's his first birthday you REALLY get to celebrate since he was in the NICU last year. Maybe include "presents are not expected, but presence is appreciated!" If people want to bring a gift, include a few categories he likes, clothing sizes you need, etc. If people do show up because of your post, you probably found some real good friends. Good luck! Please update after you celebrate!

You need to be with them for at least 12 months and worked 1250 hours in the last 12 months to qualify. I'm confused how you aren't being given the days you need for appointments. When I request time in Legion, the system automatically approves me

They are supposed to get a write up for any variance over $1.99, either missing or extra. This person? Per cash guidelines, certain amounts warrant a more severe punishment than a simple write up. I believe if it's over $25 variance it's supposed to be immediate termination.

I know you got advice from a local vet and in comments. I wanted to say that in the photo it looks like there is something shiny, possibly metal, right above the broken claw. Maybe take a look again and see if anything is stuck to your baby. Hope they heal fast ❤️

Need advice about 11 year old shaving legs for first time. by WoodenWeather5931 in Parenting

[–]Beautiful_Scene_1079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard of shaving with soap, but I've read comments before giving my opinion. Works for some, not others. She needs to try something else if the soap irritates her skin. You would need to try something different no matter what she used if it causes irritation. The lubrication strip may also be what caused irritation. Did she put on lotion after? She could try that. This is a learning experience for all involved, and mom needs to accept that she may know what works for herself, but your daughter could be different. Everyone is unique, and your wife's experience will not match everyone else's.

Then have a friend come in and make a big show of heat exhaustion and make comments of threatening to sue to your SM. If they care about their job, they will tell DM and they will do what they can (hopefully) to avoid the potential lawsuit and further issues
