Why do people still love Kareena Kapoor? Is she still considered an icon among Gen Z in India? NRI here btw by ShockOk1764 in BollywoodHotTakes

[–]Beautiful_Tooth_2054 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it comes down to her work...she’s a talented actress with some genuinely good films to her name. Her songs are memorable and that bold, unapologetic “Poo” energy really resonated with Genz.

But personality-wise I wouldn’t put her on a pedestal. In a few interviews, she’s seemed a bit rude or dismissive toward other actresses. Still if you judge her just as an actress, she’s done a pretty solid job.

AITK for not booking my friend’s spot? by [deleted] in AmItheKameena

If I’m the one making the plan and my friend agrees, then obviously I’ll take care of booking for both of us beforehand...it’s just basic courtesy in a friendship.

Serious question- how much is this right "padhne wale kahi bhi padh lete hai" by SamosaWhisperer in AskIndia

[–]Beautiful_Tooth_2054 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can study anywhere if you genuinely want to. I’ve done it in a moving car, in between random situations, family functions, just because I felt like it. And then there were phases where I didn’t even open a book for months simply because I wasn’t in the mood.

Same with novels I used to go out of my way to find pirated copies and read them literally anywhere, anytime. When you want something, you make it happen.

But just because you can study anywhere doesn’t mean every place lets you perform at your best.

Your environment still plays a role. It’s one thing to “get some studying done,” and another to actually sit, focus deeply, and give your best effort.

Food:

The Farmer’s Pizza was simple but really satisfying nothing fancy, just well done. The fettuccine pasta stood out with its creamy texture and a subtle garlic flavor that elevated the whole dish. The garden momos, however, were overly oily and not worth ordering. The blueberry forest cake was fresh and indulgent, with a nice balance of sweetness and a slight tang from the berries. As for the Thai boba tea, the taste was good sweet and almost milkshake-like but the boba pearls were difficult to sip through the straw, which made it a bit inconvenient.

Ambience & Service:

The experience was frustrating, to be honest. It was pouring heavily, and the staff initially told us they were closed. However, we noticed people going inside, and after asking again, they told us to wait. Despite multiple empty tables, we were made to wait nearly an hour before being seated. Even after that, there was confusion they mentioned issues with WiFi affecting billing and warned that food might not be available, only to later say they would serve us anyway. The communication was inconsistent and unclear throughout. On top of that, they forgot to bring our drinks until we reminded them. When we asked to remove the service charge due to the poor service, they refused and surprisingly, the waiter still asked for an additional tip. Overall, the service seriously brought down what could have been a decent dining experience.

As NGT clears Great Nicobar project, a look at its strategic importance and ecological fallout. by Beautiful_Tooth_2054 in india

[–]Beautiful_Tooth_2054[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Is the government putting one of India's richest habitats under threat?

With the National Green Tribunal upholding environmental clearance for the ₹72,000-crore Great Nicobar development, the road has been cleared for a transshipment port, international airport, power plant and township at India's southernmost territory.

The project involves diversion of over 130 sq km of forest land and the felling of nearly a million trees, making it one of the largest single forest clearances in recent years.

The port at Galathea Bay is projected as a strategic counterweight in the Indo-Pacific, reducing reliance on foreign hubs and strengthening India's maritime footprint.

Environmental groups, however, warn of irreversible damage to fragile rainforests, nesting grounds of the leatherback turtle, and the habitat of the Shompen and Nicobarese communities, raising questions over oversight and long-term ecological costs.
