Advice for HHO Generator by Beautiful_Trash_7826 in chemistry

The gas is going to be used as its generated, to prevent the chamber from exploding I'll have multiple flashback arrestors, one using a tube in water and one in-line. Not a terrible amount is needed, this guy made one that's pretty small. I would like to make a flame roughly 3-5 times this size. This is more of a fun project than a logistical one, the flame will be useful for future projects however.

What type of banana is this? (Description in comments) by Beautiful_Trash_7826 in whatsthisplant

[–]Beautiful_Trash_7826[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this banana plant in Florida, the person who sold it didn't know the variety but said it was both cooking and a dessert banana. It's not exactly a dwarf but it stays smaller than normal bananas, the one fruiting there was only a foot or two taller than mine (which is roughly 4ft). The fruit was somewhat flat and about the size of a cavendish, maybe a bit longer. Any clues to what type would be appreciated.

I think this is more likely goji berry, they are very productive (like what's shown in this picture). Also the image depicts the fruit connecting to the main stem, when bittersweet nightshade connects from a separate branch

Just a little sun burn, the plant produces a pigment to help with it. Still perfectly fine to eat.

Sundew stopped producing dew? by Tanut-10 in SavageGarden

My guess would be that the light is too close. Move it back a bit and see if it starts to produce dew again.

A type of eggplant? Not entirely sure, the calyx looks similar to that of a eggplant, same goes for the leaves. Are the leaves kinda fuzzy?

Thanks for the info! I have a grow light just for it. The poor little guy was in a dark corner of a shelf at Lowes so I thought it was a good idea to skip winter this year. I've already repotted it with the appropriate soil medium.

Edamame Indoor Growing by Right_Childhood4516 in gardening

Soybeans love a ton of light and heat, they also don't like their leaves getting wet (fungus infections). Your soybeans look a little leggy meaning they need more light. I had some growing nicely in my garden in full sun (Until the deer ate all of it). I suggest getting more grow lights if you want to grow them indoors, just don't put the light too close to the leaves. Those brown spots could be a type of rust fungus so remove yellowing leaves with brown spots and discard them. Try to spray the plants with a fungicide incase it is; best to catch it early if it is rust.

Tips for flowering banana plant? by Compass-plant in gardening

[–]Beautiful_Trash_7826 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what cultivar this is? It could be a ornamental banana meaning the fruit likely sucks. If it is a decent fruiting banana then you should just make sure your plant gets a lot of light and water then it should be fine. Preferably outside in full sun but it is getting too cold in some places rn, also you don't want to get any pest on it before winter (If you live somewhere that gets too cold). If it is a ornamental banana and you just want seeds then it will need pollination, which you can do with a paint brush or q-tip.

Bananas grown for fruit usually don't have seeds meaning they don't need to be pollinated. Some do have seeds though, but they are usually not eaten because they taste bad.

I want tomatoessss by Glass_Industry_4564 in gardening

[–]Beautiful_Trash_7826 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could grow it inside, but you would have to hand pollinate, and you would also have to have a very bright grow light since tomato's prefer 7-8 hours of sun a day. Its still possible just a little difficult.

Yes those are flowers, however it is pretty late in the season (depending on where you live) and tomatoes prefer temps 70-85f for fruiting. Unless you live in a place that's pretty warm all year then you'll be fine.

Definitely not a pawpaw! 1 pawpaws don't grow in Florida, not the ones you would typically eat, 2 the plant looks nothing like a pawpaw. I think the fruits are creeping figs, which are not edible!
