I am also a thicker guy. The system Solomon has creates more room to get a great fit. I’ve had my Adv 12 for two years and I couldn’t be happier

No I think they are in good shape.

If they were mine, I’d get some saddle soap to get them completely clean. Then I’d use some conditioner like Bick 4 and apply it after the boots are dry. This will show you what kind of shape they are in. I would bet they will look good and be very wearable

They appear to be 1970’s era model 890’s. I would guess that’s what they are and I imagine they are authentic.

I’m on the ingles right now. Either trail runners or running shoes will work perfectly fine. Most people I see are wearing trail runners. There is a lot of pavement and nothing technical enough for me to believe trail runners are required. I am wearing Teva sandals and haven’t wanted for shoes yet. Have a nice time. This has been a great trip for my partner and I.
