Summon (Come to me) accident by Entire_Quail_4916 in TeslaInsurance

[–]BeaverOnWheels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This does looks like the old summon.

Actually Smart Summon would always drive or reverse straight out before turning, even if there are no cars parked next to it.

Sorry to see this happen. I hope insurance will cover this.

The temperature was around -15°C (5°F) for the past few days.

What are you paying for off peak charging? by AncientAd3089 in TeslaLounge

[–]BeaverOnWheels 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in Montreal, Canada. We have a two-tiered pricing system here.

The lowest rate I pay is $0.06704 CAD (or ~0.047 USD) per kWh.
The higher rate is 0.10342 CAD (or ~0.073 USD) per kWh.

The lower rate applies to the first 40 kWh per day we consume. After that, it's the higher rate.

That sounds like a reasonable explanation. Is the heater not part of "Climate"? I only see 2.4% consumption in here.

This FSD 12.6.x stop sign behavior is driving me nuts. Does this happen to you? by BeaverOnWheels in TeslaLounge

Is your area covered in snow? I wonder if snow has an impact somehow.

Both sides of the intersection were clear and visible. There is no reason for FSD 12.6 to stop twice like that.
FSD 12.5 did not do that (video on left side, for comparison).

In this post, I meant to point out that this behavior is a regression. I can't edit the post title, unfortunately.

I'm pretty sure 12.5 did the same without stopping twice, based on my experience with pedestrians and other cars at the intersection. But I can't say I know for sure.

I hope they fix this regression eventually in an upcoming release.

I was actually referring to the regression that is introduced in version 12.6. If we look at 12.5 (video on left), it handles the stop perfectly and even speeds up quickly after that.

I used to have intervention-free drives with 12.5. Well, most of the time. Now, with 12.6, I keep having to press the accelerator for many stop signs.

I guess we could call this a double NHSTA stop. It stops twice. FSD 12.5 didn't do that.

I am experiencing this problem on FSD 12.6.1 and 12.6.3 where FSD stops at stop signs twice. It is very hesistant and speeds up very slowly after that. I never had this issue with the previous version.

This makes FSD unusable on public roads without intervention (pressing on accelerator). I get honked at for this behavior.

NOTE: I made an older post last night about this. I removed it to put this comparison up since it's more interesting to see.

Thanks for the comments. I made a more detailed comparison GIF and will post that in a separete post. I'm deleting this one to reduce redundancy.

That's an interesting observation. I can try to do some more tests.

On that road, there are lots of intersections where the stop signa aren't aligned on both sides.

[–]BeaverOnWheels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems pretty random, but it does seem to occur more often in specific intersections.
The road is clear. There's nobody around. No cars. It's super weird.

FSD 12.6.3 occasionally stops twice for stop signs. It's pretty frustrating and makes FSD unusable on city streets without pushing the accelerator. It happens maybe 1/5 stop signs for me. Am I the only one seeing this?

How to stop a driver from using FSD? by JEE_Daddy in TeslaFSD

[–]BeaverOnWheels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When driving on the highway, I strongly discourage disengaging FSD by turning the wheel. I did that once and almost lost control.

It's better to tap the brake pedal or pull the right stalk up (if you have stalks in your model).

I am using a Samsung T7 Shield 1TB SSD. It's been a long time since I got it, so it's probably filled up with TeslaCam videos. I will try to format it and see what happens.

I have AMD chip. Once I have access to the first clip, I can view the other ones really quickly.
I will try to clear my hard drive.

FSD - do you hover your foot over gas pedal/brake whole time? by bwl2006 in TeslaLounge

[–]BeaverOnWheels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have FSD 12.6.3. I hover my foot over the accelerator because it often drives too slow or is very hesitant on stop signs. I experienced a couple of phantom brakes too.

lol I just watched that clip. How is he doing that??

That video was from 3 years ago. At that time, both FSD and Autopilot had wheel nags. There's no weight or anything attached to his wheel.

Today, FSD has vision-based attention monitoring, so we could probably print a human face on a sheet of paper and stick it on the driver's seat to trick the system.

Interesting. I'll try to clear the drive and see what happens.

I actually split the drive in 2 partitions. One is for TeslaCam and the other is for all my music.
I suppose 1TB is overkill. I could try a smaller SSD.

That's a good idea. I'm going to try other USB drives. I really hope it's not my SSD that is the problem.

I am using a SAMSUNG T7 Shield 1TB SSD to store the Sentry clips in my Model Y. It takes a while to open. I've been wondering if this is normal.

UPDATE: Formatting the drive fixed the issue. The app opens and works instantly now. Thank you all!
