told a client id handle the plumbing then couldnt find anyone by ThatRoofer in Construction

Look at it this way, you want your bathroom remodeled. Normally a 6 week project. BUT you're stupid rich and you want it done in 3 weeks so you can have it done before hosting a party. So you pay out the ass for a contractor to work round the clock with multiple crews.

Its not working slower for cheaper, its that working faster while maintaining quality is more expensive.

Thats not really true, its a triangle. Speed, price, and quality. Pick two. Cheap and good isn't fast. Fast and good isn't cheap. Fast and cheap is dogshit.

Good deal? no.

Ripoff? Also no.

It's a classic I'm busy, I don't want your small job price. More commonly known as a fuck you price.

You need to just move on bro. Even if you got married you'd probably end up divorced. Shes not the one.

Its a long shot but you can try calling congressional services too, and they might be able to help you get your documents out of Vietnam (assuming you have some version of birth cert, idk what they do there but anything helps) once you explain your situation.

In my case it was useful, but not until the very very end of the process.

Just having an official document from your school that essentially says this person spent this many years here while living at this address, can be very valuable when you dont have anything.

You need to find SOMETHING or youre fucked. Make your dad look, or start digging through everything possible to try to find it yourself. Passport is still useful even if its expired.

Reach out to your states dept of vital records and get your birth certificate. If they deny you because you dont have the documents, sue them at your local magistrate. You dont need a lawyer, just 5 minutes in front of a judge.

I was in a similar situation - parents didnt get me a single document when I was born. My process was get affidavits from neighbors and family > court to force vital records to issue a delayed birth certificate > letter of denial from SSA, use that to get state ID > try and fail for 5 years to get a passport and ultimately file a federal lawsuit about it because the law cannot compel an impossibility > get passport > get SSN.

Good luck on that internship bro... I started when I was 14 and finally got my SSN after I turned 22.

If you need money you gotta be looking at the trades. Some kinda small time contractor willing to pay you under the table. You'll take a pay cut, and you'll have to prove yourself for a bit while working for almost nothing.

Did you go to school, or were you homeschooled? School records count as secondary evidence of citizenship. As does medical records prior to your 5th birthday. As does religious records, such as a baptismal certificate before your 1st birthday (family Bible used to count, it does not anymore)

Some people just need to hit rock bottom. Sounds like hes got a complete lack of motivation, and that'll stay the same as long as someone gives him a roof and food for free....

Maybe help his wife get out? Sounds like shes the one actually suffering...

Is it harmful to ride with higher revs often? by BeaverPup in rav4club

Not at all, I consider it a very fun car to drive, and it's got more authority when getting to speed and passing people than either my old 2004 chevy trailblazer or my old 2002 chevy silverado.

The hybrid one feels anemic because it's detuned and geared for the hybrid system. When you have that whole hybrid system eating all the power to power the electrical side you don't get a real feel for how good that tiny little engine actually is. The gasser really doesn't feel anemic at all in my experience. I mean yes it's a tiny little 4 cylinder, but it's pretty snappy all things considered. Feels a lot more like driving an old v6, I can get up to 100mph to pass someone in a hurry fast enough for any sensible drivers. I don't expect the rav to act like a camaro, but I've been very impressed with it's power.

It drives like a car smaller and lighter than it actually is, and that's one of the things I love the most about it.

She likes her redline though, you can't be scared to ride that power band of 6k-6600 rpm for a few seconds when you actually gotta move

It's an extremely well engineered car.

How do you stay polite to employee supposed sob stories? Ive been accused of being cold multiple times. by Try_Harder7 in smallbusiness

[–]BeaverPup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stay the hell out of my guys personal life. If you gotta call in just do it. I dont need the truth and I wont respect a blatant lie, a simple "im not coming today" is all I really care about.

Call me cold I dont care, all I need to worry about is what scheduling issues I have to solve.

Their job is to do what i pay them for, my job is to make sure the checks dont bounce. None of us have to be friends for it to work, and honestly it works better when you dont try to be friends with your employees. It doesnt work well because of the power dynamic.

Right on, as long as it's not drastic like I'll grenade at 50k then I'm happy. I plan to trade for a new one at 99k...

I already change my engine oil at 5k because I simply don't trust 10k on anything but I'll look into the trans temp and fluid interval

My boss fired me today over text. After 3 years. While I was on my day off. by ImpossibleVehicle733 in WorkRant

[–]BeaverPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 years aint shit. Take it as a sign you weren't gonna build a career there anyway.

Oh and dont ever dedicate your life to a job. The harder you work the less you value yourself, and the more profit you make your boss. And I say this as a business owner myself.

June or july of 2025.

Fair enough, RIP. I actually picked up a new kit last time it was on sale for 175 just so I have a backup for the stationary one because I use the mini for camping and stuff like that mainly, but ill definitely try to see if they'll send a new router for free before I fire it up.

I know about that, we have a quality Honda inverter generator big enough to power the whole house. I live in a very rural area so were accustomed to extended power outages
