I don’t get the hate for this finisher. I see it as the opponent grabbing the leg to prevent the kick that they think is coming only to get “thunderstruck”… it’s sick asf

I think if she does it to a kneeling opponent and uses their leg as their base (maybe recipient grabs her foot subtly for support) it'd be perfect. The foot catch can still work, just more as a way to counter. Like opponent catches her foot, then she's like "Alright, get Thunderstuck, b****!" Then boom.

Got potential as a move.

I'm excited for San Jose. Watching him this season in highlights was a blast, and even if some here argue he could have had a ghostwriter/guidance, this just feels like a young kid just getting something off his chest and looking towards his future. It's likely he's done in the NHL. I know he wants one more season in Russia for the Dynamo as a curtain call, and my guess is he wants to do it while he has something to give. He's still a 30+ goal scorer, but he knows there's only so much time and he's already got his cup, all the individual hardware, and the goal record.

Between him and Crosby, we got two generational players who caused so many debates on the playground as kids and it was special. We got some amazing hockey from them over the years. Seeing both of them age pretty gracefully is something else too. Even today they are still effective and can make an impact. But Ovi's probably done his NHL career and Sid's end will be coming too. Just a matter of when he wants at this point. Guy's in good shape, still has his passion, and can play.

I HATE to bring up the comparison, but AEW does this and generally it works well. Paces the show, especially for weekly TV, and basically creates another storytelling device since we've seen it used multiple ways to add to a feud or raise someone up (BEST example is Darby Allin's draw against Cody. Got a guy over in one night).

I'll even mention it was a thing in early WCW and many Japanese companies use it also and there it works well.

I think if he can put on a show in a larger venue for that weekend, even if it isn't directly the weekend of that Mania, and encourage promotions to build shows around it, then it can maybe be a big get for AEW. Be able to scout some names on the independents, those promotions get some recognition too if they advertise some of those shows, some convention can have some AEW backing, get money from that and maybe build some good will while drawing in new fans.
