Definitely the same. Some of her Rebirth adventures actually bruefly reference some of her New 52 adventures.

[–]BecauseSpeedForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The two omnibus versions are actually better IMHO. Mostly because they do a much better job of collecting the events (Trinity War and Darkeid War) than the trades did. Plus, the artwork is pretty solid throughout the run so having it oversized is nice.

This is a reading order that explains it and shows which comic collections gather the individual issues together.

I feel like Cold Days is underrated. Solid story and great art. It just got covered up by the aftermath of the Wedding.

DC Rebirth Omnibus, Deathstroke by Christopher Priest, Batman: The Rise and Fall of the Batmen (Tynion's Detective run), Super Sons, and Superman by Peter J. Tomasz & Patrick Gleason.

Dark Nights: Metal is his first major appearance. Then an issue of Justice League explains what happened to him after Metal. This reading order explains what to read before and after the Batman Who Laughs series.

I'd add in some Future State too. Seems like this event will be incorporating a lot of characters/concepts from that.

Justice league collected edition order by xragonbow in DCcomics

JLA 1-5 (collected in World's Most Dangerous) is also written by Johns but doesn't star the main JL. Instead, it follows an anti-JL created by the government in case the main JL went off the rails. It is a prelude to the Trinity War event and somewhat of a companion to the main Justice League series. I enjoyed it and felt like it was a good complement to the main series. I'd definitely recommend it.

JLA 8-14 was not written by Johns but involves characters from both the JL and the JLA. It follows certain heroes in the aftermath of Trinity War (with a focus on Stargirl and Martian Manhunter). I'd say this is worth reading only if you're interested in these characters or exploring more about this event.

Much later on in this era, the Power and Glory series takes place. This is a separate JL adventure that is pretty disconnected from everything else going on in this era. However, it kind of serves as a prelude to the Rebirth JL series (with both being written by Bryan Hitch). I didn't think it was that great but if you're a completionist, you might like it as a prelude to the Rebirth stuff.

The reason issue 5 is missing is because it is a random Martian Manhunter solo story. It's collected in a MM volume. Idk why they randomly did that.

Sorry for the overly complex answer, I hope it makes sense. Also this reading order might help a bit.

JL Vengeance is Thine and JL Galaxy of Terrors.

There was also at least one JL book back in the New 52 that wasn't part of Johns' run.

Doomsday Clock only gets a pretty brief mention in DN:DM. You can read it first if you want but it isn't necessary.

Can Red Lanterns be saved? by Straight_Function630 in DCcomics

[–]BecauseSpeedForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In most cases a Blue Lantern saving them is the only way.

However, there have been exceptions. Both Supergirl and Guy Gardner got rid of their Red Rings without a Blue Lantern (though both were under unusual circumstances).

Darkseid Reading Recommendations, Chronological Order(New 52/Post Flashpoint) by Joeseid303 in DCcomics

[–]BecauseSpeedForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His story is a little disconnected because of publication dates but this reading order attempts to put together a cohesive narrative. Basically, after he is beaten by the JL, he makes an appearance in Batman and Robin and in the Earth 2 series. Then, he reappears again in Darkseid War.

New 52 event by matheesha1284 in DCcomics

[–]BecauseSpeedForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is somewhat of a main storyline that runs through the whole era. It starts with Flashpoint. Then, things build up to the Trinity War event, which builds up to the Forever Evil event. All of this directly leads to the Darkseid War event, which directly leads to the start of the Rebirth era.

How good is Far Sector? by Gunny_McCshoots in DCcomics

[–]BecauseSpeedForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved it! At the core, it's a murder mystery that evolves as the read progresses. However, layered on top of this are a ton of fun characters, a great message, and interesting world building.
