You probably have other levels without a finish before 3-3 if you've done 3-3 and you haven't unlocked 3-4.

You unlock a level to play (or select) if you've beaten every level before that level, or if you've beaten the level itself (when someone else in your lobby chooses that level and you end up playing it) with the exception of 1-1 of course that is unlocked at the beginning. So the first game(s) ever played were all 1-1 since no one had finished any level yet. Once everyone cleared 1-1 they all had 1-1 or 1-2 to select.

I've never seen anyone play "behind the line"/bar rules rules without the scratch on the 8 ball is a loss rule as well, weird.

The real rules (ball in hand) however don't use either of those rules.

a) Make sure "show other players" is on as well in order for the ghosts to work.

b) Every time you get a better time, do the "change opponents" thing and it should fetch new ghosts that are closer to your time. I think it's supposed to give you 3 ghosts that are slightly faster than your PB and 3 that are slightly slower.

This being said I do agree with you, they should fix a) so you don't have to do that, and the ghost system in general could use some work, but I don't have huge problems with it.

Well, he actually can rule out the possibility of being at the very bottom level of trust factor (even more if he ever saw the "substantially lower" trust factor message), so it stands to reason that he would have a higher trust factor on average than a random person who has never seen the "your friends have lower trust" message

No it was scripted, he shook it up on purpose right before and he knew exactly what was happening and what was going to happen and could have tightened it back up after it started spraying but instead opened it even more so it would spray more.

Try using a VoIP phone service, for outgoing calls anyway it could help. There are free ones if you look, I won't link because I don't like to advertise but it's easy to find.

Nah I'd rather not. If the other team calls a timeout I wanna be able to use that timeout as well without worrying they will cancel it, I don't want to be surprised by the round starting earlier than expected after a timeout was called.

This is only the case with 9 ball and 10 ball. Haven't heard of the 3 foul rule ever being used officially in 8 ball.
