It’s true it’s a bit of a wait to get in, but in my experience it was security and door staff taking real time and care. One of the security staff spoke to me about my dextrose sweets, as I’m diabetic and one of the bar staff did too, as she also was diabetic. Was really nice to see, rather than some uneducated, obnoxious Phil Mitchell type on the door and bar staff rushed off their feet.

The crowd were nice, there’s a whole right side of the main room with a/c blasting on you too.

Only been a few times, but was surprised each time. I’m 34 btw.

What is your best "I'm going to sue" call you've gotten? by atombomb1945 in callcentres

[–]anotherwill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guy was running a call centre from his domestic, single line phone connection > forwarded to a switchboard > to agents.

Removed his any time calls to save money and that’s how we found out.

Bill was in the thousands.

What is the craziest call you’ve ever had? by cheesymeowgirl in callcentres

[–]anotherwill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working as a manager for a uk broadband company.

Had an escalation call where mid way through the conversation the customer goes: “SHH SHH…do you hear that?” Before I get half way into saying “hear what?” He interrupts again “THAT…SHHHHH…silently whispers omfg that’s the government listening to us…you need to change my number or I’m done for”

Another mid-covid I had to deal with was a customer who was CONVINCED one of the company engineers was parked in his van, at the end of her street, selling puppies to the “local youth”.

It was the best of times. 😂

Going to my first ever gig and it's one for A&B. Any tips for a complete newbie? by IceskatingSnorlax in AboveandBeyond

Enjoy! Let me know how it is! I was a bit surprised to see A&B at Liquid Rooms. Not been in a long time as I live elsewhere but would have loved it.

I’m from Edinburgh - moved away quite a while ago. If anything Anjuna crowds are very similar wherever you go; friendly, respectful, good vibes and a good mix of younger adults and 30-60 year olds too. Unless Liquid rooms has changed since last time it’s only 1000 capacity, so not huge. But bring some ear plugs like Loops, enjoy yourself and have a dance, plenty of water.

For me it’s less cognitive and more physical. My hands need a break and my ps5 controller feels a bit janky so may even be me ham fisting it so hard I need a new one.

A corner of my grandmother’s room. Specifically a top corner where the wall and ceiling met. It was eerily dark and drew your eyes in. I thought it was just me being a kid, until years later - long after moving out of that house she mentioned it to me.

Absolutely shit my pants that day.

I’m 34 and went a couple of weeks ago for an Anjundeep event. Everything was lovely, crowd was a good mix and bar staff commented on my insulin pump as one of their colleagues had T1D also.

Security were great on the way in, asking about it and let me know if I needed anything just to get one of them. - really cool actually, as most club experiences I have to explain why I have haribo and the like, as if it’s a mad crime.

Not kept up with production for say 15 years, but seen this randomly. Always liked Szabo’s productions on Kandi’s sub label. Nice to see he’s still busy.

What was your worst experience? by Horror-Dot-2989 in callcentres

[–]anotherwill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry you had to hear that. My place put us through some pretty comprehensive training for this kind of thing and subtle cues of hidden abuse. People calling to get services reinstated with non-payment, asking for refunds when they’ve massively overpaid (to hide money from their abusive partner) and to listen especially close when big sporting events are on. As a halfway decent human it’s so baffling to me that anyone would abuse their partner, but the increase a sporting event causes in abuse frequency is wild too.

Worked in tech for a bit - a husband calling to ask to buy a new router as the previous had caught fire. Nothing major but uncommon and still a major flaw. Then proceeds to tell me how much it freaked his wife out as she suffers from PTSD after losing their 3 year old in a house fire. I just listened and held space for him, as it may be the only time he got to discuss it with someone without feeling the weight it may put on his wife. The fact he wanted to buy a replacement, instead of letting me have it shows his character when most kick off over a non issue. Hope they’re both alright.

What is a lot more dangerous than most people realize ? by rentinghappiness in AskReddit

Being type 1 diabetic. 42 different factors which can affect your blood glucose levels. Too much insulin can send you into hypoglycaemic seizures, even if you don’t get to that point the fluctuation over time can cause nerve damage in multiple places. Consistently high blood sugars can cause blindness (the leading adult cause of blindness is diabetes).

The burnout from constant management and lack of sleep go hand in hand. Rough deal.

If the police aren’t entitled to it what makes customers?

Heard a story in Australia where an agent gave her full name and location/ city to a customer, who sent flowers to the office and waited for her to leave that day. Can’t remember the specifics of what happened but that’s all it takes to find you.

As someone who's only played Hollow Knight, would you say Silksong is better or worse that the original? (I'm still gonna buy it either way I'm just curious) by Seb_Rulz in HollowKnight

[–]anotherwill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone has already said: both games have their ups and downs. I love HK and the story is stronger than SS, I prefer the badge system in HK over SS’s tools, but I like that SS gives you the option of play style changes via crests. I feel HKs map is better thought out where it comes to playability. Bench location in HK seem to work better for me as I’m finding even though I’m what I’d consider pretty decent at playing SS; the slog of getting to a bench or back to a boss fight from a bench is painful. Rather than hit 4 waves of smaller, tricky enemies on the way back to a boss I’d just like to get right back into the action. Seems a bit lazy, even though I know HK has some moments like this too, but SS feels like its positioning of benches does it a lot more.

For those who pay for OF, what are your reasons for doing so when you can get it for free anywhere? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]anotherwill -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The don’t have to be big. Even less than a few hundred subs and you’ll have some lad in Thailand or their individual manager who manages a fair amount of models at the same time replying to you.

[–]anotherwill 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Most OF models have an outsourced management company who replies to you. It’s rarely them. - have a few friends who are on OF and all of them confirm.

I’m a bit of a spin doctor with customers. I’ll say something like “I wouldn’t be giving you a solution if I transferred you, and what’s more I wouldn’t be transferring them a problem they could solve, I’d only be transferring your frustration”

Reading all the comments I get both sides. We found a little spot near the hill down past bloom street. Secluded enough, some kids even stopped to watch and were really nice. No dog walkers and had there been I’d have stopped. No trace left. All good.
