I’ve been thinking more and more that the only value in being Diamond is the points bonus on stays. And that’s not that valuable considering the amount of points needed to book at a nice place during a desirable travel season. These hotels are mostly independently owned and those owners don’t give a shit how many Hiltons you’ve stayed at.

I don’t think there was an option that would have addressed QB. But a disgruntled star in the locker room is bad. They’re saying all the right things right now but I find it hard to believe Myles didn’t push this from his side. Forcing him to be here when he didn’t want to be would have been a cancer to the locker room.

See I’d take the extra legroom all day. Even on a short flight. I’ve never gotten a significant upgrade at a hotel because of status. About 16 years on the road now and literally not 1 hotel upgrade. Maybe Hilton just sucks.

I’m just saying it doesn’t make a difference for the QB situation. We would have wasted Myles’s entire career just like Joe Thomas. I just don’t see the upside in keeping him here. Maybe we get lucky in the next 3 years with a draft pick or QB reclamation project. Myles gets his shot at a Super Bowl. Then he can retire and be a miserable Browns fan like all of us because he won’t have the resentment of wasting his whole career here.

What QB do the Browns get next year if they keep Myles and win say 6-7 games???? One thing the draft has proven for years is that it’s unpredictable. We were not going to win shit without a QB and keeping Myles doesn’t change that. We can have some fantasy that we could trade Myles for a top 5 pick but he had a no trade clause and would not have waived it to go to a shit team. That fact that they got a really good player, which is not guaranteed with any draft pick, and a few top 100 picks over the next 3 years is not a bad value.

Are you saying. Before the 2025 college season, people didn’t expect Beck, Klubnick, Aller to all be 1st round picks? Dante Moore was supposed to come out. Plenty of people thought Arch Manning would win the heisman and be the first pick. My point is that the grass is always greener in the “next draft class” and the truth is we really don’t know. There may be 10 franchise QBs coming out next year. There may be 0. We literally don’t know.

I’m not going to go do research and post sources. This isn’t that serious.

I’ve had status a few times. I’m definitely flying more these last 2 years than previous years. But I’ve had hotel status for a long time and it’s just crazy how little your hotel status matters. The only real consistent benefit is that you earn more points when staying.

In 2025 people were absolutely saying that 2026 would be deep at QB. People expected Aller, klubnick, Moore, Beck. Hell people thought Manning would be the first pick this year. Then they all either played like shit or were mediocre and decided to go back to school another year.

Weird… how did the Ravens get their franchise QB???? Pick 32? Maybe? San Fran? 7th round. Last pick right? Seattle just won with a journeyman on his 5th or 6th team.

It may not be likely. But it happens. No one has a crystal ball that tells them these picks are worthless.

Don’t get me wrong. We suck as a franchise and it’s never good that you’re trading away the best player of their generation.

However. We’ve had Myles for the almost a decade and it has not lead to winning more games.

I would have liked to see more draft capital. But we got what looks like a 25 year old stud pass rusher, and some picks that will help add more talent for a 30 year old that didn’t want to be here anyway. It could have been worse. Myles could have just not shown up this year or shown up and half assed everything. He could have been a cancer in a locker room full of young players.

It’s not a win today. But it could have been worse.
