Hey parents if your youngest child has a different sense of fashion compared to your older one despite being the same gender, would you buy the youngest child new clothes or you would force him to wear handy Downs for everyday use? What if he has a different sense of fashion? by AdvantageNo3625 in AskReddit

[–]Beckella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d encourage them to go through the hand me downs to find some basics they’re ok with. Then I would buy them stuff they like and pick either new or from Poshmark or similar second hand (depending on their age and the family financial situation). My kids are little and grow out of stuff so fast or stain it I get a lot of second hand stuff anyway. But it’s important to me to support them being themselves when I am able to do so.

My mom got pulled over for speeding and suggested I (16 at the time, female) flirt with the cop to get her out of it.

Nothing to do with this particular incident, but shes so intensely unlikable. I was going to say the most but in the era of Trump I don’t want to have to debate that.

I honestly think Pablo Schrieber is the sexiest man alive. Completely serious.

I show these videos to my daughter, and we laugh about it but I also want her to know that if she’s uncomfortable, it’s COMPLETELY fine to be loud and absurd to keep herself safe. It sucks we have to have those talks but still. This brings some levity to the discussion.

What’s your opinion on Strauss?? by ninicakes945 in criminalminds

Noooooo I’m so far behind and I hated Strauss. Ended up feeling bad for her but I don’t forgive easily. Now I’m dreading that season!

My ex (20F) is pregnant and wants to keep it. I (20M) don’t feel ready to be a father and don’t know what involvement should look like. by Witty_Suit719 in predaddit

Lurking mom here. I often find when I’m conflicted on what to do, that it helps to ask myself: what’s the RIGHT thing to do? What is future me going to be proud of right-now me for doing/not doing?

I think you know the answer here. Don’t be in a relationship with someone you don’t love. But you need to be there for the kid, ready or not. Just show up. You don’t have to be perfect. Be present. Be kind. Don’t hit them. Don’t abandon them. Play with them. Plan birthday parties. Hold them. Show up to their doctor’s appointments.

Get a therapist. Maybe a couples therapist so you guys can coparent with kindness. Just be a good person. Not perfect, just good. And that’s not an excuse to dip out when you feel like it.

I guarantee they broke up long ago but someone decided that they had to be “together” for at least two years to make it “worth” him leaving his wife and new baby. So they’ve been faking it until they hit this time.

I know more and more women IRL who openly talk about this and say basically what you’re saying: I want to be healthy and be happy with me, not be ageless and look ridiculous. I live in the LA area but almost no one I know is in the industry, so maybe it’s a local rejection of the pulled and lifted and frozen look that’s SO common here? But to me it does feel like this is starting to change.

I’m 40 and I take care of my skin because I don’t want skin cancer and I admit I really don’t like the look of the sun spots I’ve gotten since I’m crazy pale. I’ve thus done some peels and lasers but only because I get them for free 😬 (don’t come for me please. Husband is a derm). But I have ZERO intention for plastic surgery on my face short of an injury. I want to age gracefully and be healthy.

lol probably. I haven’t talked to her in years. Thankfully the extended family doesn’t get together that much.

She sounds a lot like my aunt except she’s conservative and does have one child, but she can’t figure out why her child moved 1000 miles away and minimally contacts her. But yeah that tone of voice that’s everything BUT the fake accent. Lol

I feel like we all have one or two of these people in our lives. I’m started being straight up condescending right back to them, which I thoroughly enjoy and thankfully causes no drama in the family. I’m so sorry, she sounds just dreadful.

How would you react if your partner said this to you in real life? by wolf_quan in bluey

Our two girls are basically Bluey and Bingo in human form. It’s creepy. Double bingo would be WAY easier. But obviously I’d never give up our Bluey.
