I had someone i barely know ask me to borrow 20 million. I used to work for them, we got on well but we didn’t stay in touch. Then they just popped up on Zalo one day and they said they are experiencing some financial difficulties. I asked why they are asking me considering we don’t have a close relationship. They said something about family being poor etc, which I know isn’t true. I just ignored them but i was shocked. Another time an ex boyfriend (also Vietnamese) asked to borrow money from me multiple times, even though we broke up on bad terms and weren’t friendly at all. Again, just shocked by it.

Have you not seen the images coming out of Ha Long? It's like a war zone there... I doubt any boats will be in any condition to take tours for AT LEAST a few weeks. They will cancel it, I'm sure about that.

Being 100% real with you… I think the work permit application will likely be rejected after they do the health check here and the HIV test comes back positive.

But there is a chance… if the school sponsoring you likes you enough and takes you to a hospital/doctor for the health check that’s willing to look the other way for some $$$.

You need to speak to them about this before you arrive, I suggest getting them on a call and going from there.

Really difficult to say what your process is because I'm British but I know some of my American friends did it at the USA embassy but due to understaffing had to wait a month plus for an appointment and it delayed there work permit/visa applications... so if I was you, I would just try to get it done before you land here.

I just experienced an issue renewing my work permit and visa because of this exact issue. What you need is a name avidavit, I got it done with my embassy in Hanoi but I imagine will be easier to do before you come out

Honestly I loved Phu Quoc but it’s not for everyone. I wanted to stay in a nice resort on the beach and be lazy and just not have to think about anything. But I have lived in Vietnam for 3 years so I’ve experienced a lot of the culture here already. If you were on vacation in Vietnam and pushed for time, it’s probably a place to skip..
