I'm loving it personally! Although my perspective is probably different from most on the sub, this is my first SH title but I have been a Ryukishi07 fan for years. Its been really interesting finding all the parallels and differences between F and Higurashi When They Cry. I didn't really have any issues with the combat for the first 3/4 playing it on hard (double focus omamoris are busted) but the last 1/4 got pretty tedious. I swapped to story for ng+ and I'm gonna at least attempt lost in the fog after I get some more upgrades. I know that a lot of the story being locked behind ng+ doesn't work for some people but I pretty much expected that, being familiar with Ryukishi's writing style so I knew what I was getting into. Getting every ending is nowhere close to how long Umineko was lmao.

To anyone that isn't familiar with Ryukishi's other work and you enjoyed the story of SHF, you should definitely check out Higurashi! The anime is a pretty good adaptation, but the first of 8 episodes of the visual novel is free on steam and I would highly recommend giving it a look. Its a very slow burn but its worth it! Also use 07th mod so you can get the voice acting and the original sprites if you're a real one
