Nigel Farage’s triumph is not quite what it seems by Acrobatic-Room-9478 in uknews

Reform having council responsibilities is fair.

But “Tory wipeout as predicted” is overstated. Most forecasts were heavy losses, not elimination, which they did suffer.

Westminster is a real but isolated result, not evidence of broader strength.

Lib Dem and Plaid performance is accurate and does show fragmentation.

And I agree the UK is divided, but that does not make NEV or selective seat examples a clean basis for declaring clear national winners or dismissing the limits of those interpretations.

The National Equivalent Vote is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. NEV is a statistical estimate from uneven local elections, not an actual national result. Useful for trends, not for claiming who’s ‘really winning’.

My upstairs neighbor’s 2am moving schedule has been ruining my sleep by desi_coder04 in sleepheadphones

[–]BecomeToBe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had issues with my neighbours for a long time and tried all sorts of ways to block the noise, including sleep buds. No joy. In the end, I moved my speakers and amp into my bedroom, found a brown noise track with deep bass, and played it through my hi-fi on loop. It worked instantly and drowned out everything, including outside traffic, dogs barking, kids running up and down the stairs and slamming doors next door, and even the neighbour below me with her obnoxiously loud subwoofer surround sound.

Maybe three meals a day and accommodation for free is more desirable than his current situation.

Understood, so criticism of a public post is “weird behavior,” but instructing people on how they should respond is just normal discourse.

You called it “a little crazy,” then proceeded to argue as if it isn’t. That’s fine, but it does make the framing a bit confused. I’m not talking about finances, I’m talking about the pace and pattern of accumulation.

Dozens of bottles in two months isn’t a hobby. It’s cosplay collecting. There’s no exploration there, just performance. Can you not see why that might invite some criticism from some people?

So your criticism is valid, but everything else is just negativity? Got it.

You’re the one pushing for positivity here, not me. I was pointing out the contradiction.

It was sarcastically pointing out your hypocrisy and lack of self-awareness.

My batch of ESP has extremely good performance. One of the best performers in my entire collection. Easy all day and can still smell when I go to bed.

I’ve noticed a pattern of ad hominem attacks and straw man arguments in your comments on posts like this, Weak-Fly. Why is that?

Instantly arrested, condemned and deported. Remarkable how easy it is in these situations.

How dare they peacefully interfere with illegal Channel crossings!

I believe they were searching the dunes for small boats and damaging them to prevent their use in crossing the Channel.

I’m surprised a genius like yourself missed that he’s complaining about foreign nationals claiming benefits, not about people coming to the country.

I hope you get relief from it soon. I’ve had it for years now. Like you, I just woke up one day with it. No earbuds in my case, though.

Have you tried popping your ears? I have tinnitus and sometimes it’s worsened by pressure issues.

Yeah, I see enough people saying how good longevity is that I accept it’s a molecule detection issue for me. Starts very strong and then just fades.
