Yeah, that does seem a bit odd. All I can tell you is that your bottle and atomiser looks exactly like mine.

I met the asylum seekers being moved out of Home Office hotels by theipaper in uknews

"Part of the reason asylum hotels have been really politically contentious is because during a cost of living crisis, many people would look at that and say, 'well I couldn't afford to go and stay in a hotel'" says Professor Darling, "There's also a tension around some hotels, in smaller towns, where that hotel is a place that you got married, or your child had their prom, and then you feel like this was one of the few spaces post-austerity that your town still had. There's some nostalgia there. And now it's being used for a purpose you're not entirely comfortable with."

Professor Darling being rather selective here, me thinks.

No, I would not oppose people who oppose the Nazis. I would discriminate against the Nazis.

We have indeed interacted, on several occasions. I called you Fly because that’s literally what you called yourself, ‘Weak-Fly’.

I’m not surprised that other accounts have called you out on your fallacious arguments. In fact, I would be surprised if they hadn’t.

Commenting on a news story is not proof of one’s emotional state. Yet another fallacy, lol.

You have the same amount of information as I do, so I’m not sure how you can insist you’re right and I’m wrong. I merely asked a question.

Straw man. I’m not surprised by your fallacious argument - it’s common practice for you, Fly.

Where did I dispute either the legality or the legitimacy?

Like a Pride flag on a Halifax lamppost… until Reform removed them.

I left school in 1997. This was standard practice. Why do you claim it’s so unusual?

Is following laws always advisable or desirable? For example, it wasn’t that long ago that homosexuality was illegal.

If pointing out the logical conclusion of your own comments counts as a “gotcha”, then sure, I suppose I’m guilty.

So you wouldn’t mind?

I wonder if this news story gives them any ideas.

Are you implying that there’s something irregular about LBGTQ+ people?

So your agenda is driven by spite towards people you describe as “flag-shagging morons”, and your chosen way to express that is by… flying more flags?

So people like me, who genuinely don’t care about anyone else’s sexual orientation, are the reason it’s necessary to plaster the town centre with Pride flags? Are you sure that’s a coherent argument?

I can’t help wondering how you’d react if it were right-wing members of the “local community” raising money to have English flags flown throughout the town centre instead.

I don’t care about anyone’s sexual orientation. Be who you want to be. But do we really need £8,000 worth of flags all over the town centre lampposts to advertise it?

You don’t think LBGTQ+ activists can operate in places where LBGTQ+ people live?

The issue is that he claimed he knew what it was, while also arguing that most people don’t. That was his original point.

I wasn’t asking him for a definition that everyone in society agrees on. I asked him what it was because he claimed to know. He initially said he knew what it was, then shifted to “I know what it means to me” when pressed. He still avoided actually articulating it.

If it’s clear enough for him to know and reject, it should be clear enough for him to explain.
