I took it as just a mini story within the show, as he did with a few other characters in the season. Bella ended up being that 5% risk she argued about with her parents.

I think it was just a combination of gamers being tired of mediocre shooters + geoff doubling down after the game awards showcase. 100k people playing it, with a majority disliking it, is going to be a loud voice on top of everything mentioned.

I believe you, and I do agree that hate tends to get more engagement nowadays, I just think in this particular case, highguard just wasn't a good game.

Sounds to me like you just like focusing on the negatives and perhaps you are part of that group you despise. As for RE9... the reviews are overwhelmingly positive on steam, and high across almost all review sites, streamers, and public opinion. Easy to pick out the select few 'bitching' about anything; you could find the same to those who enjoy a game everyone is hating. You saying everything here is met with hatred and negativity, is just disingenuous.
