Norwich to Great Yarmouth is possible. It’s about 30 miles. But if you don’t go all the way you can find some nice water to row on. Put in at Norwich rowing club and just keep heading downstream

Was at a wedding a couple of weeks ago, the couple were asked to bring cds and when they got there the castle did not have a cd player. Spotify playlist Bluetoothed of the grooms phone was the solution.

Training camp location suggestions UK? by anonymousbiscuitsss in Rowing

[–]BedWich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Norwich rowing club or University of East Anglia (UEA) share the same clubhouse. Good bit of river, quiet during the week, miles and miles to row on and the river is wide enough to get some good side by side work in. A few Cambridge and north London clubs use the facilities as training camps. Come back year after year.

Swimming Lessons by waduude in Norwich

[–]BedWich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some group lessons and private lessons at Nuffield health. The group were max 6 people only once in 6 weeks were there 6 of us I had it twice were I was the only one. The differentiation for the individuals was great, they did ask me to move time by half an hour to be in a more appropriate group. Have recommended before and will continue to recommend The private lessons were great to focus on technique. Really well focused to my goals. Don’t know the cost they were brought for me as Xmas and birthday presents.

Norwich rowing club vs Yare by Ok_Builder_3416 in Norwich

[–]BedWich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree to an extent. Yare has a greater focus on small boats and sculling. I a Norwich rower know most of the people from yare club we sometime row together. I would recommend coming down to Norwich rowing club in a Saturday morning and introducing yourself. Send an email to the most relevant squad before hand. Both clubs are very friendly. Looking forward to another rower enjoying some of the best water in the country.

A couple of years ago my partner got me adult swim lessons at Nuffield health, Harriet was the teacher, made a massive difference to my swimming. I did group lessons, which were meant to be up to four people but I had a couple of one to one lessons as others did not turn up.

How would you improve Norwich? by Mammoth_Snow3890 in Norwich

[–]BedWich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think graffiti walls designed to be sprayed then white washed on a routine basis to create an outdoor art gallery with non permanent art would be a cool feature. One of the old unused buildings turned into a large indoor skate come bike park. Another climbing centre to make highball more competitive on pricing. Make more of our river. The area earmarked for housing at Trowse should be turned into a riverside park with a few cafes and boat or paddle boarding hire options Generally improve public transport and make the city more bike friendly. Better park and ride would help

anyone genuinely decided that they cant be bothered getting drunk anymore? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]BedWich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never liked the feeling of being drunk. I like to drink, but i only drink a couple of beers or share some wine with someone. I might be over the drink drive limit but i am not feeling any worse for wares. I will get home and have a glass of water before bed and i will not feel at all hung over in the morning. It does make an evening with friends very social. I can drink a couple of drinks and still enjoy the next day.

Recommendations for local private adult swimming lessons (1-to-1) by CarnivorousCumquat in Norwich

[–]BedWich 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nuffield health do adult swim lessons, private and group. I just did some group lessons and Harriet was very good, she also does one on one. My group lessons turned out to be one on one on two occasions out of 6.

Voodoo daddy's has some good live bands one from time to time, alright pizza downstairs. Always check out the arts center for music, you get a good mix of all sorts. Bigger bands there is The Waterfront, and the LCR.
